Reds Set to Welcome Bluebirds

12 October 2012

There is just over a week to go until The Reds face-up to their sternest test of the season so far.

Top-of-The-Championship Cardiff are the visitors as Sean O’Driscoll’s men look to kick on after returning to winning ways at Peterborough last Saturday.

It’s been an interesting summer for the recently re-branded Bluebirds, who have seen their home shirt and badge switch from blue to red in a controversial move by their Malaysian owners.

But the signings of Craig Bellamy, Heidar Helguson, Nicky Maynard and Tommy Smith would appear to have proved a fair compromise so far, with the Welsh outfit sitting a point clear at the top.

But if they are to preserve pole position they will have to get by a defiant Reds side who, according to Greg Halford, are full of confidence going in to next weekend’s fixture.

He said: "Despite the bad patch we have gone through recently, the mood never really changed - everybody is confident in their own abilities.

"Every team goes through a run like that at some stage - hopefully ours is now behind us and we can push on up the table.

"Confidence is high and we're looking forward to transferring that into the Cardiff game."
