Forest boss Sean O’Driscoll will welcome Simon Cox and Adlene Guedioura back into the fold for this Saturday’s trip to Peterborough. Both were banned for Wednesday’s home draw with Blackburn but will be available for selection tomorrow.
O’Driscoll said: “The more good players we’ve got available, the better. The top teams in this division are, nine times out of ten, the teams with the strongest squads over the course of the season.”
While Cox is likely to start, Guedioura’s place could be under threat after Chris Cohen, Henri Lansbury and Radi Majewski all proved themselves as able deputies over the course of the Algerian’s three-match ban.
“Simon has only missed one game, so he will probably come back refreshed – whereas Adlene has missed three. He’ll be lacking match practice because you can’t recreate the pressure of a game in training sessions.
“We’ve got a few people who have come in and done extremely well. Chris Cohen has done brilliantly – his physical stats have been really impressive but, after being out for a year, can he play three games in a week?
“Henri Lansbury got an hour against Blackburn, but he probably isn’t up to match fitness. Radi was bright when he came on, it was touch-and-go whether or not he was going to start the game, but he was impressive. “We’ll take the full squad and see how people feel in the morning.”
