Nottingham Forest’s international contingent are heading back to The City Ground as focus turns to Saturday’s home date with high-flying Cardiff.Simon Cox and Dexter Blackstock were involved in last night’s latest round of World Cup qualifiers.
Cox helped the Republic of Ireland keep alive their hopes of qualifying for the finals with a 4-1 win over The Faroe Islands.
Cox joined the action in Torshavn as a half-time replacement for Manchester United’s Robbie Brady.
Blackstock, meanwhile, played for 82 minutes of Antigua and Barbuda’s 4-1 defeat to Jamaica in Kingston.
Blackstock is not due to report back for club duty until later this week but is not eligible for the visit of table-topping Cardiff as he completes a three-match suspension.
