Sean O’Driscoll has revealed Nottingham Forest hope to add to their defensive resources before Saturday’s trip to Barnsley. The manager says The Reds are in discussions with a club over an emergency loan swoop for an unidentified player, who has agreed in principle to a move to The City Ground.
O’Driscoll stepped up his hunt for defensive reinforcements after Daniel Ayala joined Sam Hutchinson on the sidelines, while another concern is that Greg Halford is just one booking away from incurring a suspension.
Ayala suffered a hamstring injury in Tuesday’s draw at Blackpool and is likely to be out for a couple of weeks, while Hutchinson has an on-going knee problem which is being assessed by his parent club Chelsea.
O’Driscoll said: “We’re in contact with a club at the moment and the player concerned has agreed in principle.
“These things take time but touch wood we should have someone in before Saturday.”
