Sean O’Driscoll is searching for the formula that will enable Nottingham Forest to shrug off their reputation as draw specialists. The Reds have already drawn eight of their 16 Championship fixtures this season as they head into tomorrow’s City Ground encounter with Sheffield Wednesday (kick-off 3pm).
They twice came from behind last Saturday to become the only second side to earn any reward from a trip to Leicester’s King Power Stadium this season.
And although that represented an excellent point considering the below-par nature of his side’s display, O’Driscoll is acutely aware of the need to claim more wins.
He says: “We are where we are – we are a team that has to turn draws into wins.
“The difficulty with doing that is if you tinker too much or change too much you can turn draws into losses, which is so easy in the Championship.
“We’re a team that can score and we feel we can do that at any point in a game.
“The Leicester match was a great example – we weren’t really in it but all of a sudden we put eight or nine passes together and scored a fantastic goal.
“Conversely we can concede at any moment.
“That simplifies it but finding a solution isn’t that simple.
“We want to keep the fact that we can be bright and can play but we we’ve got to cherish a few clean sheets as well.”
Tickets for the visit of Sheffield Wednesday are still available in person at the Ticket Office, on-line at www.nottinghamforest or by calling 0871 226 1980 (calls are charged at 10p per minute, mobile rates may vary).
