Reds Terrorise Terriers

19 November 2012

Steve Chettle’s Under 18s continued their excellent season with a 4-1 win at Huddersfield on Saturday.

Wilfried Gnahore got Forest off to an excellent start when he bent his free kick over the wall and into the net on seven minutes.

And the lead was doubled 14 minutes later when Aristote Amisi Kamaneno did brilliantly to volley Thomas’ cross home at the back post.

Thomas got in on the action himself on 35 minutes, latching on to a sweeping diagonal ball from Michael Hollingsworth to smash home into the top corner.

The hosts bagged a consolation after the break but Jordan Palmer-Samuels ensured The Reds ended on a high, dinking over the goalkeeper after good interplay on the edge of the box.

Academy director, Nick Marshall, was happy with the outcome. He said: “The performance was really pleasing and we scored four excellent goals.

“We had two schoolboys at the back – Joe Worrall and Jermaine Worthington and a number of players who were out of position.

“Despite this we played really well and could have been out-of-sight by half time.”

Team: Myles (Durrant 46'), Sebastiao, Worthington, Hollingsworth, Worrall, Ackroyd, Petraicius, Kamaneno, Otim (Palmer-Samuels 70'), Gnahore, Thomas (Mulraney 70').
Subs not used: Elliott, Burke.
