Blazing Saddles

9 November 2012

Paul Barron, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Nathan Beardsley have completed their Nottingham to Leicester charity bike ride.

The trio of Forest coaches got on their bikes to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK and the Alzheimer's Society and rode from The City Ground to the King Power Stadium, venue for tomorrow’s all East Midlands clash.

They completed the 25-mile route in one hour 45 minutes and were joined on the ride by Reds fan Rowan Staszkiewicz, who is fund-raising for the same charities by running to six of Forest’s away fixtures – including tomorrow’s game at Leicester.

Goalkeeping coach Barron said: “We wanted to do something to help boost Rowan’s fund-raising effort and decided to cycle to Leicester.

“It was good fun. We could have done without the wind but we made it in a pretty decent time, although I don’t envy Rowan having to run to Leicester tomorrow.”

It’s still not too late to sponsor the coaches or Rowan. Please visit
