Fond Memories

9 July 2012

Luke Chambers will always look back on his five year spell with Nottingham Forest with the fondest of memories.

Luke Chambers will always look back on his five year spell with Nottingham Forest with the fondest of memories.

The 26 year old defender has today completed the formalities of his free transfer switch to Championship rivals Ipswich.

Chambers, who has signed a three-year contract with the Portman Road outfit, made more than 220 appearances for The Reds; was voted 'Player of the Year' for the 2010-11 campaign and was club captain last term.

He told us: "I have nothing but great memories from my time as a Forest player.

"Gaining promotion to the Championship in 2008 was a moment I'll never forget and it was great to be a part of the team that twice made it into the play-offs.

"I've mixed feelings about leaving because I'm leaving behind good friends and people I've got a great deal of respect for but I'm looking forward to the challenge facing me at Ipswich.

"I'm already looking forward to the game against Forest at Portman Road in November."
