So Close

21 August 2012

Sean O’Driscoll admitted Nottingham Forest’s game plan came close to working to perfection against Huddersfield at The Galpharm Stadium.

The Reds dominated for long periods of the game and looked to be heading towards victory when Simon Cox marked his full debut with a 68th minute goal.

But The Reds were denied a second successive Championship win when Dan Harding conceded a penalty in the third minute of added time and Jordan Rhodes converted.

Boss O’Driscoll said: “We went in with a plan and instilled that to the players and it worked until the last 40 seconds.

“We were home and dry but this is the Championship and everybody knows what a tough league it is.

“Games are never over until they are over and you’ve got nothing to lose when you are the team behind. I’m sure we’ll be in the same situation ourselves in the future; you throw caution to the wind because you might as well lose 2-0 as 1-0.

“Something dropped for them and you have to give them credit but performance wise I thought we were terrific.”

The Reds are back in action on Friday against Bolton at The Reebok Stadium in front of the Sky cameras (kick-off 7.45pm).
