Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce the capture of Norwich City defender Daniel Ayala. The Spanish Under 21 international has checked-in at The City Ground on a season-long loan and is the club's sixth new signing of the summer.
Forest Chairman Omar Al Hasawi said: "It is pleasing to have signed a player with such a wonderful pedigree.
"He's only 21 but has experienced life in the Premier League, as well as in the Championship, and adds to the defensive resources at Sean O'Driscoll's disposal."
Ayala came up through the youth set-up at Sevilla but in 2007 rejected a professional contract and joined Liverpool instead.
He made five Premier League appearances for Liverpool and produced a string of eye-catching displays in extended loan spells with Hull and Derby.
Ayala joined Norwich last summer in a deal reported to be worth £800,000 as the Canaries prepared for life back in the top flight.
A serious knee injury restricted his progress but he made 10 league and cup appearances for the East Anglian outfit.
