Sean O’Driscoll is considering making changes to his Nottingham Forest line-up for the Capital One Cup second round meeting with Wigan. But The Reds boss wants to see his team maintain the high standards they have set in their unbeaten start to the season.
Wigan visit The City Ground this evening (kick-off 7.45pm) and O’Driscoll says he may make the most of the opportunity to take a close look at one or two players who haven’t figured regularly in the opening four games of the campaign.
That could mean a return to senior action for Chris Cohen, 11 months after he sustained a serious knee ligament injury.
O’Driscoll said: “I haven’t got too much choice at the back and Dexter Blackstock and Simon Cox look like a good partnership up front, so I’m not going to want to change too much.
“But Chris Cohen is really hungry to get back in the team and I’ve got one or two people on the bench that could do with games.
“We’ve got to make sure that we maintain the standard and the organisation that has got us through games but if we can blood one or two members of the squad then we definitely will.”
O’Driscoll will check on the fitness of Marcus Tudgay and Guy Moussi, who both missed Friday’s trip to Bolton with groin and knee injuries respectively.
Daniel Ayala, who has missed three games with a hip problem, could get all the all-clear to return.
