Viktoria Adam and Hazanna Parnell fired Nottingham Forest into the third round of the FAWNL Cup on Sunday afternoon as they deservedly beat Chorley 2-0 at home.
The Reds made it three straight wins with a goal in each half as they also kept their second consecutive clean in the competition.
Forest came close to opening the scoring inside the first two minutes through Helena Constantinou but her thundering long-range strike was saved by Isabelle Atkinson.
They made no mistake in front of goal in the 13th minute as Adam put her side ahead. Sammy Conroy made an instant impact on her return from injury as her brilliant cross was headed past Atkinson by Adam to give Forest the early advantage.
Conroy was involved in another Reds attack only minutes later as she had another opportunity in front of goal. Her second long-range effort was sneaking into the bottom left-hand corner until Atkinson got down to push the ball behind.
Katie Middleton was the hat-trick hero in the last round and she was involved in the next attack as she chased down a great long ball over the Chorley defence. Middleton picked up the ball and turned inside the box but Atkinson got down to smother her drilled shot.
Constantinou rifled another one of her trademark efforts towards goal after she weaved past two yellow shirts deep inside the final third but it brushed the top of the crossbar as it flew over the target.
Middleton had another opportunity 10 minutes later to double Forest's lead after she broke free inside the final third but she could only fire her shot wide of goal.
The Reds made chances for Chorley difficult to come by but they were alert when the visitors did have rare opportunities to draw level. Laura Walker floated a free-kick towards the Forest goal but Conroy rose highest to clear away any potential threat.
Parnell cemented The Reds' place in the third round of the FAWNL Cup in the 82nd minute as she netted her first goal of the campaign on her season debut from the penalty spot.
Adam had been hastily hacked down inside the area and Forest was forced into making a change as she was unable to continue but there was no hesitation from the earlier subsite Parnell as she blasted her spot-kick past a helpless Atkinson and into the back of the net.
