Nottingham Forest Under 18s started their Professional Development League campaign with a 1-0 victory at Coventry City.
The Reds made the perfect start at the Alan Higgs Centre when Oliver Hammond cut inside from the left and fired the ball into the bottom corner of the Coventry net from the edge of the penalty area.
Coventry put the pressure on in the second half as they hunted for an equaliser but Forest stood firm to claim three points and a clean sheet as they began the season in the best possible fashion.
Forest play their first home game on Saturday (24th August, kick-off 11am) as they host Crystal Palace at the Nigel Doughty Academy.
