Nottingham Forest Under 18s stormed to an emphatic 7-1 win over Coventry City in their final home game of the season this morning at the Forest Academy.
Hat-tricks from Keith Asare and Will Swan and an Ethan Dekel-Daks strike from the halfway line ensured the young Reds made it two wins on the bounce, scoring 10 goals in their last two games.
It was the visitors who took the lead when Duggan lofted a ball over the head of Nykah Liburd-Hines and into the net. Swan then had several chances to level the scores when he went through on goal on two separate occasions, but he failed to direct his efforts on target each time.
The Reds did then pull a goal back through Asare whose shot cannoned off the post before hitting the 'keeper and going over the line. On the brink of half-time Swan had another glorious chance to score when he was found in the area, but he couldn't direct his header towards goal.
Just seven seconds into the second half and Dekel-Daks edged The Reds into a lead with a stunning effort. The midfielder tried his luck from the halfway line and it flew in, moments before a chaotic few minutes.
Forest were awarded a penalty which Swan stepped up to take but it was saved. A minute later and The Reds had another spot-kick when Fin Back was fouled inside the penalty area. This time Swan made no mistake and put his side 3-1 up.
Gareth Holmes' side were in the mood and Swan soon made it four when he tapped home Back's cross. The striker then secured his hat-trick with an emphatic finish as he raced into the area and rifled a shot into the top corner.
Asare then made it six with a fine individual effort before he then secured his hat-trick and Forest's 7th, drilling a shot into the net from a tight angle in a superb win for the Under 18s.
