Nottingham Forest Reserves return to The City Ground after three away games saw a 6-0 demolition of Macclesfield Reserves, with four goals coming from Tim Hopkinson.
Goalkeeper Shane Redmond, who has just been recalled from a successful loan spell at Eastwood Town was not troubled.
Heavy rain soaked the pitch just before the game but the sun was shining by kick off.
A young Forest side made all of the early pace when James Reid threaded the ball through to Ryan Whitehurst who passed to Max Wright, but his shot was just over the bar.
And Liam Hook had a good effort pushed over the bar before The Reds took the lead through Tim Hopkinson. James Reid pushed a great through ball to Hopkinson who beat the goalkeeper to slot the ball home after 31minutes.
With Reid creating problems on the left wing, his cross was deflected into the net by Macclesfield's Mathew Flynn on 35 minutes for an own goal.
Five minutes later Hamza Bencherif crossed from the right for Hopkinson to slide in his second of the night.
With just five minutes of the second half gone Hopkinson completed his hat trick, shooting home from close range.
With Forest now in full flight, Ryan Whitehurst joined in by scoring on 55 minutes and then Hopkinson added to his tally by heading home his fourth from a Matt Sykes cross on 82 minutes, to complete a painful night for Macclesfield.
