With only Birmingham having a perfect start and Barnsley not gaining a point after three game's it's just more proof that The Championship is the most closely contested division in England. Reading found themselves humbled away at Charlton this week whilst Forest de-railed Watford's attempts to equal last season's Play-off aspirations.

Yes it's early and you can't really deduce who will do what but by virtue of the fact that only one team has failed to register a point, this should tell us that the league is going to be tight once again. Take QPR for instance. Widely tipped for success this season after an injection of Formula 1 cash, yet they have already tasted defeat this season, although the appointment of Ian Dowie as manager was slightly suppressing considering the amount of money the board has at it's disposal.

Wolves, Forest's next opponents have taken 7 point's from there first three game's and Sylvain Ebanks-Blake has continued where he left off last season, scoring goals for fun. The additions of Chris Iwulumo and highly rated former Bournemouth youngster Sam Vokes, a player Forest fans will remember, could be priceless for Mick McCarthy. A season that is surly make or break for the Irishman as manager of a team who's fan's expect success.

Coventry are another team who have spent big on players, the arrival of Freddie Eastwood to the Richo Arena could have massive affects on how their season pans out. In Chris Coleman they have a manager with Premiership experience but even that didn't stop them slumping to their first defeat of the season at the weekend.

Swansea and Preston have made better start's than most would of thought, whilst Bristol city have continued were they left off last season and with the acquisition of Nicky Maynard from Crewe they may just of found the goal scorer to take them further than the Play-Off final. Our friends the Blunt's are in the mix already and given the fact that this is Kevin Blackwell's first full season in charge he will be able
to stamp his authority on them. They've also got James Beattie to come back from injury as well.

You would expect Palace, Norwich and Ipswich to improve as the season progresses so all in all a division that's about as clear and easy to understand as some of those silly event's at the Olympics.

The Dimitar Berbatov saga continues to dominate down at White Hart Lane but if they're not careful it could take away the concentration to the fact that they've lost their opening two games. Juande Ramos looks a good manager to me and signings like Modric and Dos Santos are master strokes but un-rest in the dressing room will only disjoint the hard work done last season. If Berbatov does indeed want to go then Spurs should take the £30 or so million pounds that it's believed United are offering and go out and get themselves a new centre half.

Whilst Ledley King has been a colossus in his time there his knees are about as steady as Barbara Windsor's chest, Jonathon Woodgate has impressed in his time there but need's a steady partner, something Amy Winehouse doesn't have!! Michael Dawson was used a lot last season but the Premier League jury is still out on his ability, leaving Ramos with a headache.

He needs to fill the void upfront to. The loss of Keane, along with the probable loss of the Bulgarian means he's down to just Darren Bent. Whilst I believe Bent can do a job in the Premiership, no body goes a whole season with just one striker. He can use £16m on that bloke called Arse-shaving, I think that's how it's pronounced and that would leave him plenty to sure up the back line.

The Mouss, the Mouss, the Moussi's on fire!!!!!!!!!!!

During the commentary on Saturday I had to pause when the A block broke into chorus of the Moussi's on fire. It's got to be the worst attempt at a song for a player I've ever heard, albeit a very funny one. The big French man has certainly got himself noticed in the early part of his Forest career and he can only get better in time. So far I've seen a picture of cartoon hero Danger Mouse with Moussi's head attached, calling it DangerMouss. And believe it or not there is already a web-site in his honour.

For me though, Saturday's win was about three other players. Lee Martin, Chris Cohen and Robert Earnshaw.

Martin has impressed since arriving on Loan from Manchester united and it's no wonder Sir Alex is begrudged to let him go permanently. He has all the attribute's of a Kris Commons but looks like he's eaten less pies. Chris Cohen must be one of the most underrated players in the Forest team but I challenge you to follow his work rate.. Whilst goal scorers will take headlines and Keepers save games, it's vastly important to have a box to box player with skill and great Tackling ability.

Earnshaw has already done more in a red shirt that he did all last season in a clown's outfit (or derby shirt!) Three goals from four league & Cup starts is as good as the Forest fan's could of asked for. Again, work rate and ability are key to forest's success this season and Earnie has both in abundance. He also possesses frightening pace, which caused havoc to a normally steady Watford back line.

Oh and another thing about Earnie, I taught him that front flip thing he does you know. Tell your friend's, Alan March can do the front flip.

Great to get that first win, another next weekend will be harder to come by but on Saturday's performance, alongside the 7 injured players we have, we will scare a lot more defences this season with attacking play.

See you all on Wednesday for the Sunderland game, and don't forget, wear something Green.
