Name: Matt Thornhill

Weight:13st 10lbs (87.16kg)

Another player about whom Forest have high hopes for the future.

An energetic midfielder with a keen eye for goal, he made 28 appearances last season - including 16 starts - and scored three times, including a precious match-winner at Crystal Palace.

Nottingham born and bred, he's a graduate of the Forest Academy system.

He made his debut during the 2007-08 season ... and wasted little time in opening his goal account for the club at senior level.

He was on target in a 4-0 demolition of Leyton Orient and doubled his tally two months later with a precious equaliser against Southend.

Both of those goals were scored after he had joined the action as a substitute but Thornhill also started five games and impressed many observers with the maturity of his displays.

The former Academy product made his debut as a substitute in a Carling Cup tie at Chester in August '07 and just days later stepped off the bench to make his first appearance in League One against Swansea at The Liberty Stadium.

Forest debut: August 14, 2007, Substitute v Chester City, Carling Cup

My First....

Team... was Wollaton Park FC. We used to play on a Sunday in the Derby League and were pretty good.
Postion... I've always been a central midfield player.
Autograph... was Stuart Pearce when he was still playing for Forest. I was in awe of him as a player and was really chuffed that I got his signature.
Influence ... my dad Barry. He always used to take me around to games and give me encouragement and advice.
Album... I enjoy music but I can't honestly remember the first album I bought.
Game I went to... was a Forest game at The City Ground but who it was against escapes me.
Roommate... was Emile Sinclair when we both made our debut against Chester in the Carling Cup at the beginning of last season.
League appearance ...was against Swansea when we drew 0-0 there in the early weeks of last season. It was a big game because they were flying and I went on as a substitute for Kris Commons.
Goal... against Leyton Orient in January last year. I had just gone on as a substitute and Emile Sinclair and I were running side by side and he passed it to me and I managed to scuff it into the bottom corner.
Disappointment... was losing at Wembley in the Adidas Predator Cup when I was playing for Nottingham City Boys against Oxford.
Holiday... Lanzarote with my family.
Car ... I'm still taking driving lessons at the moment but I'm really looking forward to getting a car of my own.
Pay packet... £30 as a paper boy. My granddad had a newsagent's shop and he used to pay me a little bit extra.
League ground ... was Meadow Lane, playing for Nottingham City Boys.
