The up-and-coming right back returned to the Forest first team scene last season after a lengthy spell in the shadows at The City Ground.
Moloney started seven games and wasted little time in reminding Reds fans of the vast potential he had first displayed after making his debut in 2007.
A former winner of the club's Young Player of the Year award, he looked set to establish himself as a fixture in the club's first team plans but instead found himself gaining experience of first team football in a succession of loan spells.
He served Notts County, Rushden & Diamonds, Chesterfield and Scunthorpe (where he suffered a serious knee injury) but eventually got another chance to impress for Forest in the closing stages of last season.
His appearances included both legs of the play-off semi-final against Swansea and he impressed many observers with his maturity.
A former Republic of Ireland Under 21 international, he's a product of youth football in County Kerry and joined Forest as a 15 year old.
Forest debut: August 11th, 2007 v Bournemouth (H) League One
