The Irish teenager was crowned 'Young Player of the Year' last season following a marvellous campaign at Academy, reserve and first team level.
He underlined his impressive versatility by operating in a number of positions, culminating in his elevation to the first team squad and his debut as a substitute in a 1-0 win over Gillingham in March '07.
Although primarily regarded as a right back, he's equally comfortable in the centre of defence and also operated in midfield at times last season.
He has a keen eye for goal - as he demonstrated by bagging the winning goals in a couple of reserve games - and is poised for a big future at The City Ground.
