The 20 year old left winger is on a season-long loan at The City Ground and is hoping to use his time in Nottingham as a springboard into the first team at Liverpool.
He's highly-regarded at Anfield and Rafa Benitez was keen to see him continue his development with another spell out on loan.
He spent last term with Swansea and produced a string of impressive displays as the Welsh club stormed to the League One title.
Swansea wanted to keep him for another campaign but Anderson rejected their advances in favour of a move to Forest.
Born in Melton Mowbray, he was on West Brom's books as a youngster but was released as a 16 year old. He joined Hull as an apprentice but before even making his first team debut was on his way to Liverpool in a deal worth £1.5million with £1million-rated John Welsh moving in the opposite direction.
He helped Liverpool land the F.A. Youth Cup and after establishing himself in their reserve side, he was named as a substitute for a Champions League game against Benfica - although he didn't get the chance to join the action.
Forest debut: October 18, 2008 v QPR (A) Championship
My First......
My first team was Melton Foxes from Under 7s onwards and we were pretty successful, winning league titles on a pretty regular basis through to about Under 10s.
The first game I went to would have involved Hull City and was probably at Boothferry Park but I went to that many when I was a kid that I can't remember who it was against.
My first league appearance was last season for Swansea against Oldham at Boundary Park. I came on for the last 30 minutes or so and did okay, even though I missed a couple of chances. I think the scoreline was 1-1 when I got on but we lost 2-1.
My first roommate was Tom Byrne at West Brom when we went on an Under 14s tour to Germany. We're both from Melton Mowbray and are still good mates.
My first influence would have been my dad Phil, who was on Hull's books as a kid, and a guy called David Joyner. I played for a team called Welland Valley, which had been started by David who also looked after Northampton's Centre of Excellence. David, who sadly died of cancer, was a great man and really made me want to be a footballer.
My first position was right back and I played it until I was 15. I was a right back when I signed for West Brom but eventually got moved into midfield. I'd describe myself as a bit of a terrier in that position.
The first league ground I played on was almost The Hawthorns. I was named as a substitute for an FA Youth Cup tie when I was on schoolboy forms at West Brom but never got the chance to go on. Instead, the first league ground I played on was Boothferry Park for Hull in a trial game against Scunthorpe. I not only fulfilled a lifelong ambition by playing for my club at their own ground but also scored the only goal of a local derby.
My first autograph would have been one of the Hull players when I was seven or eight.
My first goal was for Swansea on my home debut in the Carling Cup against Walsall. It was a volley from the edge of the box after the ball had been crossed from the left. It took a deflection and sat up nicely for me to strike.
My first pay packet was £13 a week as a paper boy in Melton Mowbray when I was still at school. I used to have to drag myself out of bed in the morning and stuck it for the best part of a year. I didn't have my own particular round - I was the one who filled in when other kids were either on holiday or ill.
My first disappointment was being released by West Brom, although in hindsight it changed the way I think about football. It was a real turning point as it made me that much more determined to make a career in football.
My first car was a Golf 1.4.
My first album would have been one of the 'Now' albums and I reckon it's still in the CD collection at my Mum's
My first holiday abroad was Ibiza when I was three. You won't be surprised to learn that I don't remember too much about it.
Question time.....
Any reasons for your current squad number?
I've always wanted a squad number in the first 11 and being a winger I suppose I always wanted either numbers seven or 11. When I joined Forest 11 was available and all the other numbers were either high teens or low 20s.
Who is your room-mate? Has he any bad habits?
Matt Thornhill was my room-mate when we went to Germany during pre-season. I spent all my spare time on my laptop, while he was in other lads' rooms playing Nintendo DS, so we didn't actually spend that much time together.
Who is the most annoying person to sit near on the team coach?
Unfortunately, I haven't spent too much time on the coach yet ... but when I have all the lads seem pretty quiet and keep themselves to themselves.
What other sports are you good at and terrible at?
I wouldn't say I'm terrible at any sports - I'm one of those people who is okay at most sports. I used to play a lot of tennis when I was younger but just don't get the time now.
Who do you listen to on the radio?
I don't listen to the radio. Whenever I'm in the car I stick on a CD which is usually hip hop or R&B.
Do you download any podcasts?
Never.
Favourite TV programme?
'My Wife and Kids' on Trouble TV.
If you could have free tickets to any event, what would it be?
It would have to be the World Cup final if England ever made it that far.
Worst haircut at the club?
That's a difficult one to answer because most of the lads have just got shaved heads.
Best practical joke witnessed in the dressing room?
There are some that I couldn't possibly talk about in a family publication but smearing shower gel on a toilet seat always gets a laugh - unless you're the unfortunate one who happens to sit on it.
Nickname at school?
'Ando' for obvious reasons.
Funniest player played with?
Jermaine Pennant. He's just a funny, funny guy.
Toughest player played against?
Stephen Warnock, who I used to come up against in training on a regular basis at Liverpool. He's a winger's nightmare because he's on you all the time.
How do you normally spend your days off?
By sleeping, eating and watching TV.
If you weren't a footballer what would you like to be?
I dread to think - I've never had a second option.
What would be your dream day?
In the short term it's getting my Forest career off the ground but looking further ahead I suppose it would be making my debut for Liverpool ... and then England.
Would you rather cook or clean?
Cook. I'm okay as long as I stick to a recipe.
Which four people (living or dead) would you invite to a dinner party?
My dad, because he has been such a massive influence on me; Muhammad Ali because he's a legend; Lee Evans because he cracks me up and my mate Waldo. When you become a footballer people want to know you for the wrong reasons but Waldo and I have been friends since we were kids and we never talk about football.
