It's a measure of the high regard in which Perch is held at The City Ground that he made more first team appearances last season than any other player.
He made 54 appearances (including 51 starts) and contributed six goals to the Forest cause as he established himself as a mainstay in Colin Calderwood's side.
He was runner-up to leading scorer Grant Holt in the race for the 'Player of the Year' crown and is expected to play just as prominent a role this term as The Reds look to make up for the disappointment of missing out on promotion.
A highly-versatile performer - he made his Forest debut as a central defender - can also operate at right back but has spent much of his first team career so far deployed in midfield.
Although born in Mansfield, he was on Norwich City's books as a schoolboy before linking-up with the Forest Academy.
