The Welsh international is still really waiting to impose himself on the first team scene at The City Ground.
The livewire winger has been dogged by injury problems since moving to the East Midlands from Yeovil in the summer of 2007 in a double deal that also saw Chris Cohen check-in at the club.
Davies made just four starts last term and appeared 10 times as a substitute and will be hoping to make a far bigger impact this term.
Davies joined Forest just weeks after ending his new club's promotion hopes with a scintillating display in the second leg of the play-off semi-final. He scored twice as Yeovil overturned a 2-0 first leg deficit to run out 5-4 aggregate winners.
The fleet-footed performer brings versatility to the Forest squad as he is capable of operating on either flank, as well as up front.
Forest debut: Substitute v Oldham Athletic (H) October 30, 2007 League One
My first.........
My first team was Llantwit Major Under 10s, although I was six when I started playing for them. We were average at best.
My first autograph was Kevin Ratcliffe, a proper Welsh legend. I was on a soccer school at Cardiff City during the summer holidays and he just happened to be there. They gave us a book with a picture of him at the back and I got him to sign it.
My first influence was my dad Mike. I used to watch him play for the local team when I was a kid. He's a mad football fan and used to take me to watch Cardiff play, even back in the days when they were in the old Fourth Division.
My first holiday abroad was a school skiing trip to the Italian Alps when I was 13. I was pretty good at it but wasn't brave enough to have a go on anything but the nursery slopes. As footballers we're not allow to ski or do any sport or pastime that could jeopardise our fitness but I'll certainly have another go at it when I retire.
My first position was right back for Llantwit Major Under 10s because even though I was six, I could really whack a ball.
My first roommate was Kevin Davies at Southampton, who was a really funny guy.
My first pay packet was £55 a week when I was a YTS at Southampton. When I signed as a pro I got £300 a week with a signing-on fee but remember complaining to my mum that I hadn't been paid all what I was owed when I got my first pay packet. I was ready to go and speak to someone at the club about it until she pointed out that the tax man had taken a chunk of it.
My first game I went to would probably have involved Cardiff but the first game I remember going to was Wimbledon against Newcastle at Selhurst Park in the Premiership. We went on a school trip because one of our teachers managed to get hold of some tickets.
My first disappointment was losing to Leeds in the FA Youth Cup. We had beaten Birmingham in the previous round and were pretty confident, only to end up getting spanked 3-0 at Elland Road. It was the first time I'd played at a really big stadium and I remember sitting on the coach on the way back home wondering whether I was going to be good enough to make it in the game.
My first album was 'Word Get Around' by The Stereophonics. I think someone bought it for me as a present.
My first goal was on my debut for Yeovil against Leyton Orient. I made it 3-2 and my goal proved to be the winner. I can remember it as though it was yesterday. I had only joined the club two days earlier and when it became clear I was going to go on at half-time for Phil Jevons, who was injured, all the other lads were talking to me like I'd never played the game before. The ball dropped to me on the edge of the box and I just whipped it in.
My first league appearance was for Barnsley. I went there on loan in my third year as a trainee at Southampton and made my debut in Wales - against Wrexham. Gudjon Thordarson took me to Oakwell but was sacked within 10 days or so of my arrival and Paul Hart came in.
My first league ground I played on would have been Southampton's old stadium, The Dell, in the FA Youth Cup against Birmingham.
My first car was a Peugeot 106. I was so desperate for a car after I had passed my test that I went to one of those places where you can drive away a car within an hour of first laying eyes on it ... and got well and truly tucked up on the finance.
