He joined Forest as a goalkeeping coach in January 2007 but also provides goalkeeping cover for first choice Paul Smith - a role he also fulfilled at his previous club Doncaster.

He certainly brings vast experience to the job, having clocked-up more than 500 senior appearances with a host of clubs, including Doncaster, Lincoln, Sheffield Wednesday, Stockport and Preston.

Richardson is actually in his second spell on Forest's backroom staff, having previously worked for The Reds as their Academy goalkeeping coach.

Dave Watson's move to Birmingham created the opportunity for Richardson to return to The City Ground after more than two years with Doncaster - an invitation he admits he had no hesitation in accepting.
