Robert Earnshaw with his Home Kit Sponsors |
Colin Calderwood swooped to make the Welsh international striker his first signing of the summer following Forest's promotion to the Championship, with The Reds paying Derby £2.65million to secure his services.
He's hungry for success after a frustrating one-season spell at Pride Park, where he found himself firmly on the fringes of the first team action.
'Earnie' scored more than 100 goals for his first club Cardiff before securing a £3million move to West Brom in August 2004.
He scored 11 goals in his first season in the Premier League but less than two years after his arrival at The Hawthorns, he was on the move again - this time to Norwich in a £3.5million transfer.
He scored eight goals in his first 15 appearances for the Norfolk club and then bagged 19 goals in 32 games during the 2006-07 season, which attracted the attention of Derby boss Billy Davies following his side's promotion to the top flight.
Davies paid £3.5million to Norwich last June but Earnshaw made just seven starts in the Premier League for The Rams, scoring once - against Arsenal at Pride Park.
Although born in Zambia, Earnshaw is a Welsh international and has scored 13 goals in 39 appearances for his country.
He marked his debut for Wales in the best possible style, by scoring the match-winner against Germany.
Earnshaw holds a unique record as he's the only man to score a hat-trick in all four English divisions, as well as the FA Cup, League Cup and in an international fixture.
His move to Forest took his transfer total to £12.65million.
Forest debut: August 10, 2008 v Reading (H) Championship

My first...........
My first team was Llanbradach Under 12s in Wales. I played for them for a while and although I thought I was decent, I couldn't get in the 'A' team and had to settle for life in the 'B' line-up.
The first game I went to would have been with Llanbradach. They set-up a trip to go and watch QPR play Wimbledon in the Premier League at Loftus Road. I've no idea why they picked that game - it may have been because it was easy to get tickets - but I think QPR won 1-0.
My first league appearance was against Brighton for Cardiff at Ninian Park when I was 16. I came on as substitute and I think we won the game.
My first roommate was a guy called Scott Young who played centre-half for Cardiff for donkey years and is a top bloke.
My first influence would have been my mum without me ever really noticing. She used to play football back in Zambia, where I was born, and would take me along to watch. I would only have been a baby but that's obviously where I got my love of football from.
My first position was as a striker and nothing has changed. I played in goal a little bit when I was at school was known to my mates as 'Campos' after the Mexican 'keeper who wasn't exactly the tallest either.
The first league ground I played on would have been Ninian Park. I trained there a few times with the Cardiff youth team before I got taken on as a YTS and then played there with the reserves before graduating to the first team.
My first autograph escapes me. I'm not really a great collector of autographs - I haven't met anyone famous enough yet.
My first goal was actually in a Welsh Cup game for Cardiff against Merthyr. I came on scored a header but my first league goal was on my full debut against Hartlepool at the Victoria Ground - it wasn't a bad way to start my career.
My first pay packet would have been the £5-a-week I got for doing a paper round with my mate who dragged me into it. My first wage in football was £45 as a YTS at Cardiff.
My first disappointment was failing to qualify for Euro 2004 with Wales. It may not have been my first disappointment but it was tough to take. We got through to the play-offs and were so close to qualifying for a major tournament for the first time in 50-odds years. We played Russia and after drawing 0-0 in Moscow in the first leg, we were confident of going through but lost 1-0 at the Millennium Stadium, which was a crushing blow.
My first car was a Renault Clio. It was second-hand but it was my pride and joy at the time.
My first album would have been by Coolio and I've probably still got it somewhere.
My first holiday abroad was not really a holiday as my first foreign trip was moving to Wales as a nine year old with my mum, brother and sisters. We moved to Wales, where we had family already, after my dad died.
Q & A Session
Any reasons for your current squad number?
10 is my favourite number - I've had it at all the clubs I've played for, apart from West Brom.
Who is your roommate? Has he any bad habits?
I roomed with Nathan Tyson went we went to Germany in pre-season. He was okay.
Who is the most annoying person to sit near on the team coach?
Luke Chambers. I've been whooping him at the Pro Evo Soccer and he's always crying about that.
What other sports are you good at and terrible at?
I like playing table tennis - I've just taken over from Chris Cohen as No.1 at the club - and I enjoy playing pool but I wouldn't say I was unbelievable at it. I've tried golf but I'm not very good.
Who do you listen to on the radio?
I don't really listen to the radio, I prefer my music - people like Pharrell Williams, Michael Jackson and Prince.
Favourite TV programme?
Spanish football, NBA basketball and Run's House on MTV.
If you could have free tickets to any event, what would it be?
There are two - Barcelona against Real Madrid and the Phoenix Suns against the LA Lakers in the NBA.
Worst haircut at the club?
Terry the Kit Man's. It shows far too much forehead ... but I still love him.
Best practical joke witnessed in the dressing room?
I've seen a few in the past but I'm still waiting for a decent one at Forest.
Nickname at school?
'Earnie'.
Funniest player played with?
Luke Chadwick, he's full of one-liners.
Toughest player played against?
I have to be honest, it's very difficult to separate John Terry, Rio Ferdinand or Fabio Cannavaro.
How do you normally spend your days off?
Just relaxing by maybe popping into town.
If you weren't a footballer what would you like to be?
A concert pianist, a scuba diving instructor (people who know him will realise I'm joking with that one) or the smallest NBA player ever.
What would be your dream day?
Scoring a hat-trick at Old Trafford.
Would you rather cook or clean?
Cook. I can do simple things - like pasta.
Which four people (living or dead) would you invite to a dinner party?
Michael Jackson because he's the greatest; Pharrell Williams - I'm a massive fan; Muhammad Ali because I could just listen to him all day and Superman because he'd have some stories to tell.
