Nicky Southall believes he broke new ground with his two-goal blast for Nottingham Forest against Cheltenham on Saturday.
The experienced midfielder has now scored in Forest's last three League One games and cannot remember ever before having enjoyed such a prolonged run of success in front of goal.
He revealed: "I think it might be some sort of record for me personally - I can't remember ever scoring in three successive matches before. I hope it continues for a while longer yet."
Southall kick-started his goal scoring run with the winner against his former club Gillingham earlier this month and followed that a week later with the only goal of Forest's game against promotion rivals Bristol City.
He added: "It's vital that we score. I've been lucky enough to get the goals in the last few weeks but I'm sure that when I dry up, someone else will come up with the goals."
