Forest threw away a 2-0 half time lead when Arsenal stormed back in the second half to win 3-2.
A minutes silence was impeccably kept by The City Ground crowd tonight in respect of the death of former Arsenal and Forest favourite Joe Baker who died suddenly on Sunday.
Forest looked the livelier side and after only 10 mins. Bopp picked up the ball just inside Arsenal's half and fired the ball past Stack low to his right to put the reds into a deserved lead.
Forest were showing some neat touches in midfield with Bopp looking much like the player he was last season .
Arsenal's first real chance came on 28mins when Smith was put clear but he ballooned the ball over the Forest goal.
Forest went further ahead on 42mins when Robertson struck a beautifulfree kick into the top right hand corner well out of Stack's reach.
With Forest bringing on Wilmet and Gardner at half time the reds quickly put more pressure on the Arsenal goal.
Arsenal started to come into the game and on 60mins Bradley put a shot past Roche's right hand to pull one back.
Three minutes late Juan's free kick was picked up by Birchall with his shot hitting the upright and Tavlaridis following up for the equaliser.
Arsenal's pressure paid off on 82mins when Juan put the Gunners into the lead with a well struck shot past Roche.
Forest went down to 10 men a minute later when Walker left the field limping.
