Millwall Visit: Billy's View

Posted on: Fri 10 Sep 2010
Billy Davies insists he has reason to be satisfied with Nottingham Forest's start to the season.

The Reds will go looking for their first win of the campaign when Millwall visit The City Ground for tomorrow's Kids for a Quid fixture (kick-off 3pm).

Forest are unbeaten in three npower Championship games and boss Davies is in an upbeat mood as he prepares for the visit of Kenny Jackett's men.

He told us: "We just missed out on automatic promotion last season but we're one point better off now than we were after four games last term.

"The clear message is don't look at league tables until December or January - I keep saying that - and don't get too distracted by what's going on in the early part of the season."

The transfer window has closed since Forest were last in action and Davies added: "I'm glad the uncertainty has come to an end.

"Over the last number of months myself and my staff have spent God knows how many hours looking at videos, watching games, reading reports, identifying players and doing what we have to do.

"We have spent so much time over the last number of months that I'm delighted that we can now sit back, concentrate on football and concentrate on working very hard with the group that we've got.

"The transfer window is very disruptive, as I've said before, and we know that's the case.

"Looking at what has happened we're all a bit shell-shocked for sure but at the same time too it will settle down at the club, settle down in the dressing room and we'll look forward to the challenges that lie ahead."

Saturday's game is a Kids for a Quid fixture, entitling youngsters aged under 16 to purchase tickets for just £1. Tickets are available in person at the Forest Ticket Office, on-line at nffcretail.com or by calling 0871 226 1980* (* calls are charged at 10p per minute, mobile rates may vary).
