Billy Davies believes his Nottingham Forest side got the least of what they deserved after claiming a point from their trip to The Madejski Stadium.
Robert Earnshaw's first goal of the season cancelled out Alex Pearce's opener for Reading and earned The Reds a 1-1 draw.
Davies' men dominated for long periods but were frustrated by Reading goakeeper Adam Federici, who produced a string of outstanding displays.
The manager told us: "I'm disappointed with a point because I think we did enough to have got more out of the game.
"Their goalkeeper pulled off two first class saves in the first half and we played some wonderful football only to unbelievably find ourselves trailing at the break.
"That was a great shock because I genuinely felt we looked like the home side with the manner in which we played our passing game and moved the ball around,
"But we stuck at it and got what the equaliser we deserved in the second half."
A mistake by the otherwise excellent Federici presented Earnshaw with the opportunity to level matters and Davies added: "We may have deserved our goal but their 'keeper didn't deserve that.
"He had kept them in the game but we produced a good performance and have come away with a very good point,
"I was delighted with the attitude and application of the team."
