Ilkeston Town 4 v 1 Nottingham Forest XI

Posted on: Mon 02 Aug 2010
A youthful Forest XI slid to defeat at non-league Ilkeston Town.

The Conference North side led 1-0 at half-time at the New Manor Ground, thanks to a goal from centre-back Rikki Bain, who converted Lawrie Wilson's free-kick inside the first 10 minutes.

Forest began to show their class but it was Ilkeston who grabbed the crucial next goal.

David Graham made it 2-0 from the penalty spot after 65 minutes, after Gary Ricketts had been held in the penalty area.

Striker Patrick Bamford gave Forest hope a minute later as he made it 2-1, but hopes of a fight back were ended two minutes later when Matt Richards curled home from outside the area to make it 3-1.

Jack Watts wrapped up the scoring with two minutes to go to make the final score 4-1 in favour of the home side.
