Billy Davies believes Nottingham Forest can transform their away day fortunes by continuing to work hard.
The Reds face Bristol City at Ashton Gate tomorrow (kickoff 3pm) looking to bring to an end a run of seven success Championship defeats on the road.
Their latest setback came at the hands of league leaders Newcastle on Monday but Davies was pleased with the quality of his side's display, as he has been for much of the winless sequence.
Boss Davies still believes his side can force their way into the automatic promotion spots, despite trailing second-placed West Brom by nine points with six games remaining.
He told us: "There are six games left and what we've got to do is try and win as many of those as we possibly can.
"I've said for weeks to the players that if they continue to do what they've been doing in recent games then things will change.
"We've not got what we deserved in many games but we've just got to keep working away.
"Eventually we'll get that away win and we'll get it at the right time."
Davies added: "I genuinely do feel that, depending on the next two or three results for us and West Brom, the door could swing wide open.
"Things can change - I've seen it before.
"We've got to make sure we don't slip-up, we've got to go down there and try and pick up points hoping there are slip-ups elsewhere.
"The nine-point gap can go to six and the six can go to three within two games and before you know it we could be looking at a three-point gap with four games left.
"We need a lot of things to happen and we're not daft but until it's mathematically impossible, we'll keep striving for automatic promotion."
