Skipper’s Setback: Latest Update

Posted on: Wed 10 Mar 2010

Billy Davies is not ruling out the possibility of Paul McKenna playing for Nottingham Forest again this season.

Scans have revealed that the knee problem the Forest skipper sustained against Swansea last Saturday is not as serious as first suspected.

And although McKenna is facing the prospect of several weeks on the sidelines, the 32 year old may still have a part to play this term.

Manager Davies said: "The extent of Paul's problem is not as bad as we first feared.

"He will be out of my plans for several weeks but knowing Paul as I do I wouldn't necessarily rule him out for the rest of the season."

Scans have revealed damage to the medial ligament in McKenna's right knee but he does not require surgery.

Vice-captain Lee Camp is expected to take over the skipper's armband, starting on Saturday against McKenna's former club Preston at Deepdale (kick-off 3pm).
