Billy Davies is backing new signing George Boyd to bridge the gap between the bottom of the Championship and the top.
Boyd joined Forest on loan from rock bottom Peterborough earlier this week and is poised to make his debut for The Reds against Swansea at
The City Ground tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).
The 24 year old winger, who will spend the rest of the season with Forest, trained with his new team-mates for the first time yesterday.
And Davies insists: "It's a great challenge for him. He's coming to a club that is in the top three with 12 matches to go and all to play for. He must be excited about his new challenge.
"He's a very good player, a good goal-scorer and a good creator with a wonderful left foot.
"He's coming into a very good squad and he allows us to chop and change things slightly.
"George can play in a number of positions but more importantly we can now move a number of people and change it around slightly. That's always important in the run-in to the end of the season."
Forest will be gunning for their 10th successive home league win tomorrow but Davies refutes suggestion their recent struggles away from - they have lost their last four on their travels in the league - is adding to the pressure to perform at
The City Ground.
"Fighting relegation is real pressure," he says.
"This is enjoyable pressure, although there's nothing guaranteed and we haven't done anything yet.
"If anyone had offered us this situation at the start of the season we would have bitten their hand off.
"We've got to be humble and appreciate that we're in a very good position. We've got it all to play for."
