Fraud Warning

Posted on: Tue 02 Feb 2010
A fraudster is using the name of Nottingham Forest to try and extort money from youngsters overseas who dream of making it in English football.

The individual poses as an agent - using the names Martin Dahlin and Ben Foley - and claims to be able to arrange trials at The City Ground in return for cash payments.

He is in no way connected with Forest and club officials have been liaising with the police, FBI and Interpol as they try to apprehend him.

It is important to note that any Nottingham Forest scout who approaches a player will have appropriate I.D.

Any approach from someone purporting to be from the club but does not have sufficient I.D. should not be taken seriously.

If you are approached and are unsure of the validity of the approach, please email the Academy at Debbie.irving@nottinghamforest.co.uk and someone will be in touch as soon as possible.
