Sticking To His Principles

Posted on: Fri 18 Dec 2009

Billy Davies is prepared to again make changes to his Nottingham Forest line-up to face Preston at The City Ground tomorrow (kick-off 5.20pm).

The Reds extended their unbeaten run in the Championship to 13 matches with a 1-0 win at Swansea last weekend.

But boss Davies is a great believer in the 'horses for courses' approach and has already shown he's not afraid to make changes to a winning side.

The Scot selects line-ups that he feels are best suited to particular opposition and has formulated a plan for Preston.

He told us: "I don't listen to anybody - I stick by what I believe is the right team to win the game of football.

"It's all about doing the right thing for the right reason."

Joint leading six-goal scorers Robert Earnshaw and Dexter Blackstock are pushing for returns to the starting line-up after finding themselves on the bench at Swansea.

But David McGoldrick, who scored the match-winner last Saturday, will be hoping to retain his place in the Forest front-line.

Forest are again expected to be without Guy Moussi, while long-term injury victim Julian Bennett remains sidelined by his knee problem.
