Luke Chambers is itching to bring one of the most frustrating spells of his career to an end.

The defender has missed Nottingham Forest's last three games through suspension following his controversial sending-off against Reading on the opening day of the season.

He is available for Saturday's Championship clash with Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road (kick-off 3pm) as The Reds look to bounce back from Tuesday's home defeat by Watford.

And the 23 year old is hoping to make a quick-fire return to the starting line-up.

"I hope to play," he insists. "We had a poor result on Tuesday and it would be the perfect opportunity for me to go in there and try and shore things up.

"It has been so frustrating. I wanted to get a nice run going and capitalise on the opportunity to play week in, week out but that was all taken away from me in the 88th minute of the game at Reading.

"Thankfully I've only been out for just over a week which is not that long.

"It could have been so much longer if we hadn't had midweek games, so I'm thanking my lucky stars for that."
