Pulling No Punches
Billy Davies had no complaints after Nottingham Forest's home defeat by Watford.
The Reds boss pulled no punches after his side's 4-2 defeat, declaring: "We deserved nothing tonight.
"I thought we were out-battled. I thought they scrapped better than us and they gave us a lesson in how to be involved in a dogged game.
"In my opinion, we just didn't compete tonight in the right areas.
"We've got no excuses. We were beaten up by a side that showed a better attitude - bottom line!"
Davies was left fuming after referee Tony Bates failed to spot a clear handball by Mike Williamson shortly before half-time which denied Robert Earnshaw a clear run on goal.
But the Scot was no mood to use that as an excuse for his side's defeat.
He added: "I can sit here and say how unfortunate we've been over the last three games.
"I can talk to you about the Chambers sending-off; the goal that was disallowed against West Brom and how we never got the breaks with the chances we created and about the blatant red card tonight that should have led to a red card.
"At the moment these things are going against us but that's football.
"I said to the players at the end of the game that they've got to continue to work because I've no doubt about what the situation will be in the future."
There was a further blow for Forest with the news that Lewis McGugan sustained a fractured cheekbone in a first half collision.
Davies revealed: "We don't know how long he will be out but we know it's a definite fractured cheekbone."
