Forest fielded 7 of their new signings at Nene Park in a pre-season friendly against Rushden and Diamonds.

With Chris Gunter, Joel Lynch and Dexter Blackstock making their first appearance since returning to The City Ground, it was the first chance for the travelling Forest fans to see Paul McKenna and Radoslaw Majewski in action.

It took just one minute 33 seconds for Majewski to show his quality when he picked up the ball on the edge of the box, turned and put the ball past Dale Roberts in the Rushden goal with his first touch.

Blackstock broke through after 8 minutes, but Roberts blocked his shot.

With Forest pushing forward, Rushden broke when Rob Wolleaston put in a cross across goal, which Luke Chambers cleared over the bar.

The equaliser came on 43 minutes when Forest loanee James Reid ran down the left and his cross was scrambled over the line by Aaron O'Connor.

The Blue Square Premier Conference side came out in the second half attacking Forest from the whistle.

Both Curtis Osano and Aaron O'Connor beat their man to put in three dangerous crosses across the box.

Gunter made a last gasp clearance off the line on 87minutes to keep the score at 1-1.

While Rushden used eight substitutes, it was obvious that the Forest plan was to give as many of the team a full 90 minutes run out, with the exception of McGugan and Mitchell.
