The Real Dele
Wed 01 Jul 2009
Dele Adebola checked-in at Nottingham Forest today and wasted little time in picking up on the positive vibe surrounding The City Ground.
The 34 year old striker has joined The Reds on a free transfer from Bristol City - one of three summer signings Billy Davies has made so far.
He trained with his new team-mates for the first time as pre-season training got underway in sweltering conditions.
And he told us: "It's going to be a big challenge - there are a lot of good teams in this division but there's a real buzz about Nottingham.
"I'm positive I've made the right decision in coming here because I do think there's going to be exciting times around the corner.
"I've always admired Forest. It's a big club. They had a few seasons in the lower divisions but when a club like this builds up a head of steam there's not a lot of stopping them and I think bringing Billy Davies was a signal of their intent.
"I've only been here a day but from being around the place and speaking to the manager, the buzz I feel now is akin to probably when I was back at Birmingham.
"It's a big club and there's only one place it should be and that's in the Premier League.
"It remains to be seen whether they get back there in the next one or two seasons but they will be back there sooner rather than later."
