Nottingham Forest will discover the identity of their first round Carling Cup opponents next Tuesday (June 16).

The draw for the first round will be made at 9.30am and full details will appear on www.nottinghamforest.co.uk.

Seventy Football League clubs will figure in the draw but relegated Newcastle and Middlesbrough have been given first round byes as the highest placed clubs in last season's league tables.

The next 35 clubs - including Forest - will be seeded and drawn against the remaining 35 clubs.

The Championship fixtures for the 2009-10 season will be released the following day (Wednesday, June 17) at 10am.
