Eoin Jess has thanked the well-wishers who sent him messages of support after he was taken ill last week.

The former Nottingham Forest midfielder, who is now coach of the club's Under 16s side, suffered a mild stroke.

He is expected to make a complete recovery and is currently recuperating at home.

The 38 year old ex-Scotland star told us: "I have been advised to rest but I'm feeling fine. I would like to thank all the people who have sent me get well messages - it really is much appreciated."

A Forest spokesman said: "Eoin is taking a break from the game but everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery and looks forward to welcoming him back to The City Ground very soon."
