Reds Get 'Fletch'
Fri 17 Oct 2008
Nottingham Forest today completed a loan swoop for Crystal Palace midfielder Carl Fletcher.
The 28 year old has joined The Reds on a six-week loan and will make his debut in tomorrow's Championship date with Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road (kick-off 3pm).
The hard-working performer has struggled to make an impact on the Palace scene this season and was transfer-listed by Neil Warnock in August.
But he remains a key figure at international level for Wales and won his 34th cap in Wednesday's World Cup qualifying defeat in Germany.
Fletcher launched his career with Bournemouth and also played in the Premier League with West Ham. He was also a member of their FA Cup final line-up in 2006.
He joined Palace in a £400,000 switch that summer and was a regular for two seasons until losing his place this term.
Fletcher's arrival coincides with the news that Guy Moussi is to undergo ankle surgery on Monday and could be sidelined until the New Year.
