Arron Davies grabbed his second goal in as many pre-season games as Nottingham Forest came from behind to beat Burton Albion.
Davies hauled Forest level at The Pirelli Stadium before second half goals from Lewis McGugan and Nathan Tyson settled the game, a fund-raiser for Treetops Hospice Ripple Appeal.
Davies, who was on target in last week's win over German outfit Offenbach Kickers, fired Forest level in the 23rd minute after Michael Simpson had given Nigel Clough's Burton the lead.
The Welsh international is still looking for his Forest career to ignite after an injury-plagued first season at The City Ground.
He is understandably desperate to catch the eye of manager Colin Calderwood in the build-up to the start of the Coca-Cola campaign against Reading on August 10.
And he enhanced his chances of securing a place in Calderwood's plans for the curtain raiser by snatching an equaliser - albeit with a helping hand from the Burton 'keeper.
Saul Deeney was left red faced after only succeeding in palming Davies' shot from outside the box into the back of his own net when trying to tip it effort over the bar.
Davies made his crucial contribution after Burton had drawn first blood with former Notts County midfielder Simpson converting Jay Richter's pin-point cross from close range after just 10 minutes.
The second half was only two minutes old before Forest took the lead with McGugan firing under the body of Deeney after holding off two challenges.
McGugan came close to adding to Forest's lead as he fired just wide in the 62nd minute after excellent work on the right hand side by Tyson.
Instead, Tyson sealed victory eight minutes from time as he added the finishing touch from close range to substitute Adam Newbold's low cross from the right.
