Friio: Moussi's Destined For Top
Thu 03 Jul 2008
David Friio believes Nottingham Forest new boy Guy Moussi has the potential to make an impact at the highest level in English football.
The French midfielder joined Forest earlier this week from SCO Angers for an undisclosed fee subject to international clearance, signing a three-year City Ground contract.
Former Forest midfielder Friio is now the club's scout in France and was the man responsible for alerting manager Colin Calderwood to Moussi.
He accompanied the 23 year old to England and told us: "Guy has got fantastic potential and for me he will be a Premiership player.
"He was in touch with a few Ligue 1 clubs in France and Lille were most interested in signing him but just at the last minute they changed their manager and the situation changed.
"It was a great opportunity for me to bring him to Nottingham. We came over last week so Guy could have a look at the club and meet Colin, which he really appreciated."
Friio added: "Guy is a central midfielder who can play either in the holding role or as a box-to-box player. He's very powerful with the ball but for a big lad he's good technically.
"I watched him several times and then Colin and Keith Burt went to watch him play and liked what they saw."
