German Opener For Forest
Thu 03 Jul 2008
Nottingham Forest's first appearance in pre-season will be in Germany.
The Reds had already 'booked in' to a German training camp between July 13-19.
But now Colin Calderwood's men have been invited to play a friendly against Germany second tier club Kickers Offenbach on Friday, July 18 with a kick-off of 7:30pm local time.
Said Calderwood: "It's ideal to have a game at the end of a week's training in Germany and it will help us get an idea of how far we are into our fitness programme.
"Offenbach were in the Bundesliga just a few years ago but were relegated to the third tier of Germany football last season. They should provide us with an excellent test and they are expecting a reasonable size crowd for the game."
Kickers are based in Offenbach am Main, Hesse. They play at the 31,500 capacity Bieberer Berg Stadion.
