Nottingham Forest's unbeaten run extends to six games and they are still unbeaten away from home, taking a well-earned point after coming under some real pressure from Crystal Palace.

Forest played some lovely football in the first half, creating good passing football and looking the better side. But they didn't create any chances in front of goal and it was the home side who took the lead from a free kick just before the break.

Forest quickly got back on level terms at the start of the second half and defended well under pressure to take a share of the points.

It was a positive start from Forest, with Nathan Tyson finding space to get away down the left and combining well with Lewis McGugan, making only his second League start of the season. And Tyson showed his pace again, beating Danny Butterfield for the second time in as many minutes to get a good cross in.

Palace had an early chance from a free kick with a rocket of a ball from Darren Ambrose which saw Lee Camp react quickly, rising to his left and tipping the ball over the crossbar.

Forest were lucky when Kelvin Wilson slipped in front of Camp's goal, allowing the ball to bounce off him towards goal but fortunately into the arms of the Forest keeper.

Forest made a good break when Paul McKenna knocked the ball forward towards Tyson who timed the run to perfection, the flag stayed down, but the Forest striker couldn't get the ball under control.

And they defended well when Ambrose and Freddie Sears combined well to get the ball in to Alan Lee but Wilson did well to close him down.

Forest continued to create good football, looking particularly sharp getting forward down the flanks.

Another chance was created when David McGoldrick laid the ball off to Dele Adebola but Julian Speroni was quick to pounce on the ball.

Palace came close to taking the lead when Lee crossed the ball towards Victor Moses who had only just come on as a substitute. He got the ball away from Chris Gunter but was closed down by an onrushing Camp who put the ball out for a corner.

Take the lead they did five minutes from half time from Ambrose's third free kick of the game, from the edge of the penalty area. It was superbly taken, with the ball curling high into the top corner, leaving Camp with nothing he could do.

Clint Hill was lucky not to be sent off after a nasty challenge on Paul Anderson who went down to receive treatment after an elbow in his face. Hill only received a yellow card, as did Gunter for arguing with the referee.

Anderson took no further part in the game, with Garath McCleary hardly able to get on the pitch before the half time whistle went.

Forest showed their skill from the outset and got the equalizer less than three minutes into the second half. It was good play from McKenna on the far right, getting the ball up to McGugan who sent it flying across the face of goal where McGoldrick got just a faint touch on the ball to put it over the line from six yards out.

Forest had another chance when McGugan ran onto the ball and into the penalty area. Under Hill's challenge he crossed to Adebola who was caught off balance and was unable to get his shot on target.

And good work by Shaun Derry gave them a quick break, but Moses was put under pressure and put the ball over the bar from close range.

A cross in from McGoldrick was almost a shot on target from a tight angle when the ball only just evaded the back post.

Palace created a chance when a flick-on dropped for Ambrose, who stuck out his foot to get the ball past Cohen. Camp reacted quickly to dive to his right and make a very good save.

The home sides good spell continued with a great run from Neil Danns into the box, crossing to Moses who got away from three before running into Wilson. He couldn't get the ball away and the Forest goal was under pressure again.

With Forest tested defensively Luke Chambers came on in place of Lewis McGugan.

But Palace continued to put the pressure on when Ambrose beat Wilson to get the cross in and Wes Morgan had to defend well to prevent a shot on goal.

Forest had a chance from a free kick with good delivery from Cohen to Tyson, who got free of his man but sent the ball wide.

There was a scare for Forest when Morgan headed the ball away straight to Stern John whose shot from 30 yards went into the side netting.

Joe Garner became Forest's final substitution of the half, replacing Tyson and joining Adebola up front with nine minutes to go, but Forest struggled to get the ball forward in the final stages.

Palace had a stoppage time chance when Gunter was unable to stop Stern John. Camp and Morgan both came across to block his effort and the Forest keeper made another good save.

The home side made a last ditch attempt to win the game but Forest defended well to go away with a share of the points.
