Nottingham Forest are still to score at the Keepmoat Stadium after suffering their second defeat in a week.

It was a lively first half with some good, attacking football from both sides. Doncaster took the lead and Forest fought back well and came close to getting a quick equalizer.

Forest looked increasingly frustrated as the second half wore on with their composure letting them down towards the end of the game. And they were down to ten men after substitute Garath McCleary was sent off for a foul.

Doncaster had the first real chance of the half in the eighth minute when Billy Sharp turned Kelvin Wilson before shooting from the edge of the box, but Lee Camp was able to tip the ball round the post for a corner.

Sharp again threatened when he beat the Forest defence and lobbed the ball past Wes Morgan and Camp before it went across the face of goal and wide.

Doncaster continued to impress in midfield and Forest reacted by moving Radoslaw Majewski back into midfield and pushing Nathan Tyson forward to play behind Dele Adebola.

There were cries for a penalty from the Forest bench when Chris Gunter went down after getting past Mark Wilson, who appeared to then block the Forest player, but the referee was not interested.

After creating a number of chances, Doncaster took the lead just after the half hour mark. It was great delivery by James Chambers in sending in the cross which created the chance but as Camp came out to claim it, Sharp got his head on the ball and flicked it low into the centre of the goal.

Forest reacted well and missed a chance to go level soon after with a great shot forward by Chris Cohen to Tyson who went one-on-one with the Doncaster keeper. Neil Sullivan blocked his effort well and the ball came back out to Majewski, but he shot wide.

It was good end-to-end football for the rest of the half, hampered slightly by the torrential rain that played havoc with the pitch.

A good interception by Gunter prevented a chance for Doncaster early in the second half as the home side made a positive start.

Forest didn't wait long before making their first substitution with Garath McCleary replacing Lewis McGugan, who had struggled to get into the game.

And David McGoldrick followed him shortly after, coming on for Majewski, to the disappointment of the travelling supporters.

A good run by McCleary ended in frustration when he sent the ball well wide of the target.

And Forest squandered another chance when Kelvin Wilson got the ball forward and over the shoulder of Dele Adebola to drop in front of him and he ran clear on goal, but his effort from 8 yards out went over.

Forest were lucky not to concede another goal when Wilson gave the ball away and Sharp and James Coppinger both got forward with the ball but Forest were let off when they got in each others way.

The final change for Forest saw their leading goalscorer Dexter Blackstock come on for Tyson as they continued to struggle to get any efforts on target.

Forest created a chance after great work by Cohen to get the ball forward past three players to McGoldrick, but his effort hit the back of Blackstock.

Forest were were clearly showing their frustration as they let Doncaster get to them and were down to ten men after McCleary was shown a red card for a challenge on John Oster with eight minutes remaining.

Forest created little in the closing stages of the game and in the first of the five minutes stoppage time Doncaster were only stopped from increasing their lead by Wes Morgan, who deflected Sharp's shot wide for a corner.
