Nottingham Forest play Luton Town in the next round of the FA Cup after comfortably beating Lincoln City in the replay.

Forest dominated the first half for long periods, with Lincoln not having a single shot on target. But it was 35 minutes before Forest took the lead with a quality goal from KrisCommons.

Nathan Tyson scored twice in the second half to put the game out of Lincoln's reach but the Forest defence were sloppy when they allowed the away side to get a goal back.

Lincoln started well and created some problems for the Forest defence in the opening minutes before Lewis McGugan eventually cleared the danger.

But it wasn't long before the
Lincoln goalkeeper was brought into action. Arron Davies fed the ball through to Nathan Tyson whose shot sent Alan Marriott diving low to his right to put the ball round for a corner.

Forest should have taken the lead in the ninth minute when KrisCommons found Julian Bennett who made a great run and pulled the ball back for Tyson who fired over the crossbar from 6 yards out.

It was nearing the half hour mark before Forest had another chance when Tyson got away down the left and fired in a cross to Commons, but he headed over the crossbar.

Julian Bennett was forced out of the game when he went down in the Lincoln box after making a great tackle on Louis Dodds to prevent him from going through on goal. When he eventually got up he limped off to be replaced by James Perch.

Forest took the lead after a beautiful one-two between Commons and Chris Cohen. Commons made a good run through the Lincoln defence and shot from 12 yards out low into the corner, past a diving Marriott.

Tyson could have made it two shortly after when Cohen flicked the ball through to him but his shot at a tight angle went straight into Marriott's arms.

And Davies missed his chance when the ball was crossed to him by Cohen after more great work down the left by Commons. The ball missed Tyson, bounced a bit hard for Davies to get it fully under control and Marriott was able to make the save from a tight angle.

Forest fashioned a chance at the start of the second half when Davies sent the ball right across the face of goal, but nobody was there to get on the end of it.

But their second goal was not long in coming when McGugan fed the ball through to Tyson who raced down the left, got away from his man and produced a super finish to send the ball at a tight angle across the face of goal and into the far side of the net.

Forest continued to pressurize the Lincoln goal and Wes Morgan was only just over the bar when he headed from Cohen's free kick from the left.

Forest's third came from a lovely delivery by Davies down the right in to the near post where Tyson slid in 50-50 with the Lincoln keeper and the ball just trickled over the line, while Marriott could do nothing but watch.

Lincoln came close to getting one back half way through the second half when Lee Frecklington's powerful shot forced Smith to dive low to his left to put the ball round the post for a corner.

Junior Agogo made his first appearance since coming back from international duty when he replaced KrisCommons with 20 minutes to go.

Jamie Forrester got a goal back for Lincoln seconds later when the Forest defence did little more than watch as he made a run through and poked the ball past Smith from the edge of the six-yard box.

It looked like being 4-1 when Tyson shot into the corner of the net, but the offside flag went up, correctly albeit very late.

Lincoln looked much better in the latter stages of the game and just before stoppage time Forrester hit a shot towards the top corner which was only just wide.

Forest made a late break when Agogo put Tyson in with a chance but his shot was blocked and came out to McGugan whose effort from the right had to be parried away by Marriott.

And when Davies made his way into the penalty box he left it too late and was tackled by the last man when he should have passed out to Tyson who was denied his hat-trick.
