I like many others have renewed my season ticket, on the assumption that the problems we suffered last season were well and truly behind us. BUT from reading fellow supporters comments on various sites including fan talk I get strong vibes of disharmony not without cause I must say !!
I was sorry to hear of John Pembertons departure and felt he was a valuable member of the staff with great knowledge of the way Forest go about things, but BD obviously wants his stamp on things which in a way I understand but I hope it doesnt come back to bite us further down the line when he departs !!
Lots of rumours are flying around and once again I assume BD has got players to come in and signings are only a matter of time or getting rid of 8 players and sending fringe players on loan is going to cause mayhem in the ranks once more. Yes I am a true Forest fan of over 40 years and want to see this club progress, in these difficult times financially we must be thankful of our chairmans support, lets hope he has given BD the green light to set this club on its way upwards, under no circumstances must we flirt with relgation from the Championship again.
I like my buddy the Old Timer have a wife who doesnt want me being grumpy all the time 'As she puts it ITS ONLY A GAME' and after all these years she still doesnt understand our great passion for the game!!! So come on lets look forward and get behind the team and hope we have a super season to bring cheer to all of us.

Those of us who remain unconvinced about Billy Davies have had our fears realised a little more following the sacking of John Pemberton.I find this decision to be truly appalling. Davies' ego and manner and the route one football we have played since he took over leaves me completely cold.

As a regular season ticket holder If BD does not spend, niether will I
Billy buy some players
Bob Musgrove
Firstly I am disgusted to see that John Pemberton has left the club. Worked wonders with the youth squad and deserves to be treated a whole lot better than this. I wish him well wherever he lands up and as per usual it's our lossbut some other clubs gain.
The close season has an all to familiar ring to it.
Season ticket renewal time again. The promises of activity in the transfer market, funds made available and numerous players bid for, but as per usual us supporters have been cooned out of our hard earn't cash because no significant signings have yet to arrive. Just typical of this club selling it's supporters short yet again.
On another note which emphasises how this club treats it's supporters. I run a kids football team in Nottingham and approached Forest and our neighbours across the trent to ask fo a donation towards the raffle prices at our presentation evening.Nothing much an autographed football or shirt, something that could raise a few quid for the club and bring in much needed funds.
I was totally disgusted in my so called beloved team, in no uncertain terms they did not want to know and the email I received was rather blunt. On the other hand Notts County went out of their way to accomondate me. I was offered two signed shirts and free tickets for a game next season. This from a club who is currently short of funds.
I felt let down by the club I have supported since a kid and find the clubs attitutde disgraceful

It appears thousands of Forest fans have once again put their hands in their pockets and bought season tickets for 2009/10. So they`ve done their bit.
But ----can anybody at The City Ground help an Old Timer? Can those in "control" tell him what has been done during the past few weeks to ensure we don`t have to face yet another season in the depths of despair. My wife tells me she can`t stand another season of a grumpy old so and so coming home from the City Ground.
Is it at all possible certain things are taking place behind the scenes and come our first game at Reading we won`t have the slightest idea whose running out onto the pitch to play for us?
We`ve got rid of so many players on loan and with John Pemberton and others being the latest casualties it does beg the question as to whether BD has another agenda. Let`s hope it`s not the same as when he was at Derby! We all know what happened when he decimated the playing staff there!
Unfortunately I get the impression management doesn`t see it a priority to reply to the concerns of fans. No doubt this repost will be dealt with in the same way but at least I can demonstrate to the wife I`m trying to do something about a situation that has concerned many fans for such a long time.
So come on BD and others- do something --- and at least try and make my wife happy!
John Rider Old Timer Worksop
I, like I suspect many fans are, am very disappointed to see John Pemberton move on.
Long standing and highly successful in his role, he has lost only 3 games in the last 2 seasons, and has developed some very good youth players for us. So firstly let me thank him for his contribution.
I really don't understand for a second why the club would not want to retain his services, but I think David Poole (below) made some shrewd observations and has some interesting views. Maybe Billy Davies saw him as a threat, or maybe he is just stripping away the previous regime to strengthen is own, who knows. But it certainly cant be because he doesn't think he is any good - he record cant be argued with
But I am worried the problem runs a different course to David thoughts, I just believe Billy Davies does not care a jot about the future of the club, I don't think he has any interest in the youth policy or long term stability. He simply wants to use the club as a stepping stone to further his own career. He will spend as much money as we can gather, put together a team for 2 seasons, which may be successful to a point, and then he will move on and leave us in the lurch. Preston had to rebuild after his couple of seasons, derby had to start again as well, I predict we will be in the same position.
We will lose all the management team and structure, and be left with no money and a side of aged journey men and doggers, and no youth to revitalise our team. Just like we were 3 seasons ago after the Kinnear and Megson tenures.
Finally I last wrote to Fan Talk about a month or so ago following news that we had released 8 successful youth team players, and at the time expressing my concerns about the managers commitment to our academy and the development of our young prospects. I fear this news is further evidence still that under this new regime we may find a change in that policy.
We as a club have benefited from a great youth policy, and I would hate to see that now change.
Andy Walker
Whilst I accept that John Pemberton is a really wonderful person and he has done an absolutely fantastic job with our youngsters, I must take issue with Mr Smithson's previous post regarding his comments about the release of John Pemberton. I beleive that his comments and many others are very shortsighted in that the youth system clearly has not worked for NFFC.
Nottingham Forest FC have been languishing in the lower divisions for far too long, the fact that young players have made it through to the first team is irrelevant as we have not had the success so many fans desire,it has not worked!
If any of our young players make it through they are sold for big money to Premiership clubs, which (apart from the excessive spending in the Platt era) is why we have been in lower divisions for too long.
If we were in the premiership I am convinced that any talented young players brought through the youth system would be retained, no doubt about it.
Its time for a radical change at NFFC and I think The New manager has got the expertise to get us back into the Premiership, at which point our youth system should be given EVERY priority to develop once again into what it used to be. Whilst we are languishing in the lower divisions you can have the best academy and youth system in the world, however it will not bring success to the first team, its proved it over the last ten or so years. please get your head out of the clouds and wake up to the facts that we have all witnessed. All our energy must be devoted to getting NFFC back where we belong, which in actual fact is what all NFFC fans want isnt it?
Ken Skegby
This is absolutely criminal! Has no-one at the Club got any morals. John Pemberton is the reason why we were not relegated last season! He is the one who has developed our talent and taught youngsters to play the football we want to see and there must be an important role for him. This is ridiculous and a very sad loss! What the hell is going on at Forest? Hopefully John Pemberton will be back as our next manager! Thanks for everything you have given to us John!

With renewals apparently running at a high level(including myself) it seems we have all accepted that being told by the Club that prices for 2009/10 were to be frozen was a reasonable decision.
However I have just realised that last year VAT was 17.5% and currently it is 15% which means there has been a 2.5% increase. My request for clarification to Mark Arthur has gone unanswered, but with his record for spin it seems that VAT reduction has been used to cover up a price increase, albeit a modest one.
The point is why cannot the Club Management be transparent with there information

Just a quick thanks to the excellent work carried out by John Pemberton for the club through is role with the youth and reserve teams over the last few years and of course he deserves his place in Forest fokelore for overseeing the drubbing of Man City last season!
Shame to see a good coach leave the club.
Cannot comment on the fitness coach going other than to say that perhaps it was time for a change given the number of player injuries and team performances that have run out of steam on more than one occasioon over the last couple of seasons or so - has to be down to fitness or am I being harsh!!
Good luck

I'm a little bit concrened by a position that our board has created.
Firstly let me state I approve of Billy Davies and think he could do very well, but what happens if he doesnt get his own way?
Like most managers, Billy is bringing in his new backroom staff this is quite ordinary but how far does it go?
Today see's John Pemberton being released, a man who had done extremely well, winning his league, bringing through new players including the current team captain James Perch.
So what is the true purpose of releasing someone who is achieving so much?
Who else is leaving the club and who are they being replaced with?
While at D*rby County he even went as far as to change the chef. Now there might have been a valid reason but isnt it a bit too far?
I'm sure Billy will bring in some really good people, for that I have no doubt. But what if the board refuse to sanction a request from Billy? He could threaten to leave and take all of HIS staff with him, that would leave a club without a skeleton.
Speaking to a Derby fan, he claims, rightly or wrongly, that Paul Jewell had such an upward struggle because the club had to recruit so many new non playing staff to cover a wide variety of positions.
When a new manager has to put together a team of playing or non playing staff so quickly, you can't expect any success more likely a scrap for survival and this has been seen at our near neighbours Notts county when Steve Thompson had to rush a side together and also at mansfield this time last year. Although I do recognise on those occassions we're talking about playing staff.
In February of this year and until the end of the season, Billy was very diplomatic with regards to the recruitment and selection panel we have in place of David Pleat, Keith Burt and Kermit the Frog etc.
However he was forced to be diplomatic after only just being brought in as manager.
Billy is very shrewd and to add to this, before and after every game of last season he always thanked the fans for terrific support. Quite rightly so. What he is doing is slowly winning the fans hearts and minds.
All Billy needs is some continuity of good football, good results, hearts and minds of the fans, his complete backroom staff and he becomes king of the castle.
I predict a power struggle by the end of the January transfer window in 2010 if Billy doesn't get his own way.
The crux will be the recruitment and selection panel, and this will be Mr Doughtys last corner of power in non-financial terms.
I predict that if Billy doesnt get his way Nigel Doughty could be a little hot under the collar.
I sincerely hope this doesn't happen. And I dont want to portray Billy Davies as a meglomaniac. He is hungry for success but I dont think he seeks power, just a lot of control......
Have we seen this happen before? Didn't Brian Clough operate in a similar way?
Anyway food for thought in this quiet pre-season, thank heavens for twenty20 cricket and the under 21's football.
Roll on August!
Best Wishes
David Poole - exiled in d*rby
Well, the season ticket is renewed and we are now looking forward to 2 weeks holiday in Benidorm in mid July. A leg operation in King's Lynn hospital has been planned for 3rd August and I should be ready for the coming season. Time to renew acquantances with buddies Old Timer and Young Timer and everyone else in BC Lower Block S.Just hope that BD will be suitably prepared. Who are we signing? Have we got Camp? Have we got or are we getting anyone? I hear that we have signed a striker - he can't be that much younger than our best defender Ian Breckin !!
Peter Boothby.Downham Market.Norfolk.
Nice to hear from the Old Timer and the Old Old Timer from Aussie land, yeah very quiet plenty of rumour and speculation but no concrete results as yet!!!
Off to renew season ticket tomorrow and my buddy the Old Timer is thinking of applying for Archivists post, but then again if we dont sign anyone soon he may be getting the dubbin out for his boots!!! he may be needed next season.
Mick Wagstaff ( Young Timer ) Worksop
It is nice to see a lot of activity going on at the club with regards to signing new players. Promising for the months ahead.
Great to see an attacking view, wouldn't it brilliant to go back to that system of hitting teams on the break. Like the team used to in the late 80's and early 90's, that was exciting football, probably the best football I ever witnessed in 24 years as a Forest fan. The way they used to run forward like a tidal wave up the field, good days, for me anyway.
I am feeling all nostalgic now and being mindful that we have always played attractive football, I am hoping for a return of exciting football at Forest for the new season. We'll show them.
Looking for the best price in the bookies for a Forest win in the Championship, am I being too wishful or hopeful? To hell with it, i'll have a tenner on anyway!
Come on you reds!!
Rowen Udell.
Hi everyone from down under, what has happend to this site lately, I am up at 6am every morning, put the kettle on and then switch to the Forest site expecting some fresh news each day, I know it his the holiday season over there but surely some kind of news could be found to wet our appetite there is more news coming out of Meadow Lane at the moment ( have not had any black and white humbugs since I was a kid...lol) maybe we will get some local derby's with them in the future, what a team they had with Lawton & Sewell in the forward line, end of my whinge, roll on Aug....
old, old timer Adelaide Australia
Well it looks like while our manager has been on holiday, that all our "targets" seem to be going to other clubs. Mainly Newcastle utd, this couldn't be the work of a certain colin Calderwood who seems to be up there in the cold and snow?? Also I saw a certain craig burley talking to a mr davis in david Lloyd west bridgeford another tap up for derby?? Watch this space.

Transfer market moves in mysterious ways
The Times's transfer expert lifts the veil on a system where bluff and brinkmanship are part of the deal in trading players
This article goes some way to explaining why us fans get so frustrated about what is happening in the transfer market. - ed
Read here.
I`ve not been on the scene for the past few weeks so I assume I`ve missed all the transfers to Forest?
I take it we have a new goalie? I suppose we`ve also got an experienced lad to put his foot on the ball in midfield? Oh and what about a striker---you know--someone who can get up in the air and make a good honest challenge for the ball? Surely something has happened whilst I`ve been away?
Perhaps someone can tell me the good news?---or shall I carry on dreaming?

In reply to "Clive" from basingstoke which incidently is just 20 mins drive from me.......
Anyway back on topic. It wouldnt be down to Tyson whether he stays or not, it would be down to the club if they decide to keep or sell him & i very much doubt that he would have a say at all if the club did decide to sell. I hope he does stay & i hope you are right because he can add alot to our squad next season & i rate him very highly.
L Sharp (Andover Red)
I certainly hope there is no truth in letting paul go to Swansea. He as been a remarkable work horse for forest do you really want that talent playing against you, I know I don't That decision would be as stupid as the one for not signing lee camp, letting kris commons and david prutton go. Come on lets make this season work for us not against us. As you've said yes it's a young side but I've watched them grow with confidence they can only get better……
Arthur Edward Brozych
Just thought I'd let all those that care know,Tyson's going nowhere, got friend who knows and plays Sunday league with his brother Rob,he's staying put, not going anywhere especially to the sheep. Anyhow it's at the back where we need to strenghen,we've got goals in us just need to let in fewer, also get camp or similar in ,smithys iffy to say the least, great shot stopper,it's just in the air, corners etc,he just does'nt command his box and fill his back 4 with any great confidence .Still all said looking forward to a great season.
COME ON YOU REDSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Clive, basingstoke red til I die.
I strongly believe that Forest strikers are capable of improving next season and we have enough talent ,but I suggest to give that extra Punch up front BD should consider Michael Mifsud ( The Mosquito) he could get him for free and use the money saved to strengthen our defence and midfield .Pair MM with RE and they will tear apart every defence in the championship with their speed and natural instincts for goal! Come on Billy bring in the fire back to the Forest .....come on youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeddssssssssssss.
Martin, Malta
Had a look at Pat McCourt. He looks an amazing player. Whether Celtic would let him go is another issue, but would be great to see him in a Forest shirt.
Stewart Massey
Pat mc court plays with Celtic signed from Derry city last year for £250.000,was a bit injury prone but Celtic got him sorted near end of season and was just starting to break in to first team.
A brilliant talented footballer that just ghosts past players.may get him on loan.Have a look at him on you tube.
Kevin Toye
I know its really exciting talking about all the strikers Nottingham Forest are being linked/interested in, but I believe we already have some quality strikers in the squad, looking forward to seeing more of Garner next season.
I'm more interested in our club signing quality proven defenders and some strong nippy midfielders like Paul Anderson. But I believe Billy knows what he's doing and hope the board and fans back him, come on you reds!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anthony
Here we go again!! loads of Forest Fans saying that we should sign Beckford from Leeds United? I know somebody in my local Pub who is a massive Leeds Fan and even he says that he is not really that good? He would'nt score no where near as many goals in the Championship as he has in League 1 and far more importantly! He would cost between 2.5 to 3.5 Million(Forget Him) We can do much better than him!!
West Hallam Red!!
lets all take a chill pill now the season is over, billy and the players did us proud the last quarter of the season no doubt whatsoever.norwich went down because they went for the ex player as manager (so did newcastle look where it got them as well) we went for an experienced manager who knew what he was doing and will do next season.just a note on the beckford thing hes on the transfer list up here in leeds because he wouldnt sign a new contract nice to see mr chris cohen did , beckford i dont think so we dont need him, fingers crossed for next season to everyone at the club.
dave shelton castleford
Scott what are you talking about in your remarks of getting rid of Tyson and signing Beckford from Leeds?????
Beckford is Leeds through and through and it has been reported that he does not want to leave Leeds do we want another Alan Smith who did not want to leave leeds but got forced to and flopped at every club he has played for ever since????
Tysons work rate is second to none and if played in the right position he would score a lot more goals.
Forest are signing new players (about time) but we are desperate for good defenders apart for the intrest shown in the kid from doncaster (matt mills) we still have not got anyone!!!!
Daz
I really hope we dont sign Beckford... it wasn't so long ago he was at Carlisle and looking very average, i think Leeds also shipped him out on loan a couple of seasons or so ago. My other 1/2's parents are season tickets at Carlisle and they alomng with other people they stand with did not rate him at all and can't understand where this season has come from... the fee to get him of £2m - £3.5m is too much of a gamble based on 1 good season. Re. Anderson i thought i read somewhere he is on holiday, so maybe we'll speak to him when he returns as Swansea have only had a bid accepted for him, and not spoken to the player. I'd like to think he'll much prefer to return to forest as he turned them down about going back on loan to them... and lets face it they're not Forest!
Michael Wood
Cheshire
message for billy, have a look at the brighton defender andrew whing what a player. voted player of the year by the fans has been the rock in a very weak defence. I believe he has not sighned a new contract yet. get in quick!!!!
Tim Williams
Hi I am a loyal supporter and was just wondering why Billy Davies hasn't gone in for Jermaine Beckford of Leeds, theres a player who has scored 34 goals last season and am sure he woludn't want another season in Div 3. I just think personally speaking that Nathan Tyson is a good player but is very injury prone and you never see him play because of this. Get rid and go for Beckford Billy.
Scott
Great news that CC has signed a new contract.
A talented young footballer who will grace the Premiership one day - hopefully with Forest.
Here's hoping that this is the first of many signings that BD will sort out over the next few weeks to cement our place in the CCC and then push onto the Premiership
before to long.

If the Press Talk is to be believed the Daily Mail reckon that we have signed Dele Adebola on a free transfer. Well done Billy, Forest's reputation for signing deadbeat, over the hill, fogies is still intact. I sincerely hope that if it is true he will not be another Lennon or Cole, what a waste of money they were. It is my belief that if we are to sign some experience we need players aged about 28 -30, not those nearly ready for their old age pension! Adebola proved alright last season but I only rate him as a third division player and we should be buying players capable of being successfull in the top division, unless Nigel is not too bothered about throwing his money away.Perhaps, as it is reported to be free transfer, we are only signing him on a one year contract leaving the options open for the following season. It also leave the sheep etcetera clear to muscle in on the players on Billy's must have list. I believe Archie Gemmill still plays a bit of footie; what a signing he would be, and would bring the team average age up a little!!!
By the way sincere congratulations on getting Cohen to sign a four year deal. This should prove to be of benefit both to club and player. He really is one for the future, a great buy from Mr Calderwood.
Phil Poole (Sutton in Ashfield)
Hi Just read on Sky sports that Swansea have made a bid for Paul Anderson and has been accepted why have we not gone for him please dont be slow Billy &Board lets move fast to get these players!!!!!
Landlord Trent end
Not sure if Billy is on holiday or not but we have to move quick with regards to transfers or we will miss out!! Paul Anderson set for Swansea? I hope not. As most of you have pointed out, Lita would be a good signing, he spends most weekends out in Nottingham so I don't know why he wouldn't come play for us. As much as I want a forward I would still sacrifice one for a centre back, we look a shambles at the back, I would like to see two brought in to bolster our back four. On the stadium issue, please please lets get a decent side first, because if we are anything like last season . . . God help us. Here's to a busy and productive summer, and a fantastic 2009/ 10 season. YOUUU REDDDS!!!!
Mr Prawn & Mayo Sandwich
Just a couple of comments about the new transfer rumours. I know a Norwich season ticket holder and apparently they didn't rate Lita at all. Reports were that he was lazy beyond belief and had a real chip on his shoulder. However, I think Beckford would be well worth a gamble. A proven goals corer, with a real desire and hunger.
A note on Red Ted Junior's comments - you must have a real short memory! We were pretty ordinary in our promotion from Div 1. We got up despite CC, not because of him. I'd have sacked him in the summer, despite the promotion. It was only other teams choking at the finish that got us up. Are you forgetting the constant team changes and playing everyone out of position? I remember starting that season thinking Tyson & Agogo up front, with Commons & Davies on the wings, would terrorize most defences - but I don't think he ever played them all at the same time. How many times did Tyson & Agogo warm the bench, with Dobie and Holt starting? What a waste. I know they worked hard, but useless in front of goal. Lets face it, his consistent decision to leave Commons on the bench, especially away, was the main reason he refused to sign for us again, and joined Derby. While I think the squad certainly needs improving, if BD had been in charge all season, we would have been comfortably mid-table.
Mark Hardy
Oh dear, i see on the Swansea website a statement saying they have had a bid for Paul Anderson accepted by Liverpool. Is this going to be the first of many of our intended signings we loose out on.
TRENT END PETE
I confidently predict we will have a lot of rumour and speculation over the players we are alleged to be "interested" in for the next couple of months. We've heard this all before.in every close season for years.
I do not think the Club should tantalise the fans by fuelling the speculation by leak and innuendo about who might be coming. We as fans should let the manager get on with his shopping list and the club should say nothing until after signings are made. I agree with J. Harvey that getting the players sooner rather than later is the key. If BD's key signings are not made by, say, mid June, it will be an indication of the true level of the Club's expectations for next season.
Red Ted
PS Like the meerkat adverts, please do not confuse Red Ted (me) with Red Ted Junior (my son)
Quick Buys - Train earlier and hard!
£3-4M for Beckford would seal the deal do it now before others jump on the bandwagon.
As per the rest of the fans sign up our loan signings.
We also need CAMP back Smith doesn't fill me with any confidence when the crosses come in and I'm sure Camp would be #1 very quickly.
There should be a policy never to sell any players to Leics or Derby, it's embarrassing.
Leroy Lita, is also a good point raised on here, just think - Lita,Tyson,Ernie,Blackstock,Beckford up front to choose from, that would show we are serious of getting up and staying up.
Start with Beckford & Lita then sub one and throw on one of the others aswell each game and see the goals come flooding in. You win games by scoring goals and to have plenty of proven strikers is the only way, see the prem top 4!
Anderson, Gunter were solid this season and have the platform to only improve, Perch,Mc g, and Moussi will hold the midfield, we just need a quality defender or two, here we should be looking to the premiership for loan signings ie top 4 fringe players who ned first team football.
I have faith in Billy to come up with the goods, buy the players early, get the team asembled early doors and back on the training ground.
That way we are as a unit and fully on each others wave length come the start of the season.
On another point, Mr D scrap Setanta and put the money into Forest and reap the result of that major cash injection, you will get it back on first premiership season payment.
Also buy some land at Clifton and get the plans and builders of the emirites statdium who build it in time and on budget. Yes we won't fill it, yet; but the Olympics, and 2018 world cup will be here and we can offer a venue and show our future desire for the club. Also concerts can be held here, Mc Donald's can replace the disgusting outlets which the City Ground have!
On that point, more staff for the outlets and one's who possess some desire and get up and go as their's seem to have got up and gone!
Just a couple of thoughts!
Can't wait for next season
J Harvey
Leroy Lita on a free transfer!! As long as his wage demands aren't ridiculous, he's got to be seriously considered to bolster the squad surely? BD wants at least 5 top strikers? Well Tyson, Garner, Earnshaw, Blackstock and Lita makes pretty good reading in my book. I can't wait for next season already, there seems to be such a positive vibe at the moment and everytime I read the paper I see Forest linked with more decent players.
Games against WBA and possibly Newcastle and Middlesbrough aswell. Great season in store.

Hi everyone...
If ND is going to back Billy Davies with the cash that he needs to improve our squad then we have to buy new proven players,
I would like to thank Lynch for the effort he has put in this season but i for one would not waste money on signing him , we could get a better defender for the money.
Clubs like Charlton and Norwich also Southampton are their for a player raid so if we go in to buy their best players then they will have to sell to balance their books and we could get them at a very good price.
A lot of supporters were not happy with Billy Davies getting the job in january but i for one think he is the best man for the job , i have got great hope for our club in the next few seasons but success is not going to come over night.
Even if we finish mid table next season it will be an improvment so us has supporters have to give him time to rebuild our once great club.
Dont expect to much this coming season and lets get behind the manager 100% and lets start singing his name at games (trent end people).
See you all next season and please again dont expect a miracle its going to be another up and down season give him time.....
Daz
Leroy Lita should be a definate target but also Dean Bowditch and Paul Iffil I think would be great acquisitions for the club especially for nowt!!!!!
Dave
Please, please, please, please PLEASE sign up Jermaine Beckford from Leeds.
He is exactly the kind of top quality goalscorer, blessed with sublime natural ability that we used to enjoy seeing in a Red shirt in our more successful years.
Sign him up & you'll have very happy supporters in this coming season & beyond.

Just a quick question, are we still building a new ground? I believe now is the time to do so. Just look at arsenal it will drain finances but is ESENTIAL for the future at the moment most teams around us have the same ground capacity (Leicester and D**** ) and they have not won nearly half of what we have. To be the biggest club in the midlands (not just east midlands we need our 50000 seater coliseum of nightmares. Come on forest you have drank from the success of Brian for too long now is the time to invest in Nottingham Forest. And where is the bloke who i used to hear on the trent end years ago who used to shout COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMEEEE OOOOOOOOOONNNNN YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUU RRRRREEEEEEEEDDDDDS I miss him.
Lee from Broxtowe.
Sorry Red Ted but I have to disagree with you. We didn't stay up by chance, we stayed up because Billy and the team battled and got the results we needed - we went on an unbeaten seven game run and we were safe with a game to spare.
Things have improved, we are bloody hard to beat (ask the blades and Bristol City) and there is a tough mentality now that wasn't there earlier in the season. Also I enjoyed the football during the last 3 months a lot more than I did in the run up to Christmas.
The players look like they believe in Billy and so should the fans.
Paul
Leroy Lita released today by Reading. Would be a great free transfer. Not the greatest footballer, but, guarenteed goals at any level.
Sign up Gunter for sure.

Well lets hope its only rumours about nathan being sold to the sheep up the road after losing commons last season to them was bad enough lets get it straight we are not a breeding ground for them. If he goes aswell it shows our ambitions of getting anywhere near the playoffs is zero also we deffo need blackstock, gunter, anderson next season and a keeper maybe camp but someone just to challenge smith and next season should be promising lets get behind billy and the lads from pre season and all of the campaign and finish higher then derby leicester peterborough etc what a great league it is for us with maybe newcastle and middlesborough joining us its a season the fans and players should be relishing not fearing up the reds come on forest full houses big games lets climb that table and look up not down. Also well done to milwall for beating leeds and making them languish in the lower leagues for another year with no points deduction to blame. Get behind the reds and make it a successful season. UP THE REDS.
Ian King Top Valley
You make a very good point Andy. Although I fully expect you will get some backlash from those who think we should win ant any price. This is what I have being trying to say in recent weeks. When CC got us promoted as soon as things went wrong the fans were very keen to say that we only 'scraped' promotion and that was some kind of fluke involved. Well we certainly only stayed up by chance this season. Staying up based on other scores going our way at the eleventh hour cannot be described as a 'turnaround' Turnaround in luck maybe - but as Andy says if we are totally honest things don't look to have improved greatly. They may do of course and I hope they do. Let's take the last game of the season as an example Billy asked the team to turn on the style for the fans to create a party atmosphere etc. Could they do it? The reason the crowd were so quiet is that for the majority of the match we were absolutely awful. Now the 'win at all cost' brigade will quote the score back to me and say that that is all that matters. Not to me it isn't - I watch Forest for enjoyment and there has been very little football played this season.
We can't really predict what happens next but attacking football on the floor will always be important at this club.
Red Ted Junior
i think we need to make an approach for jermaine beckford if we go in with a substantial offer leeds couldnt resist !
also paul anderson ,lee camp ,dexter blackstock and chris gunter on a permanent is what we need aswell as a good center half or will
luke chambers step up to that role?
come on forest show the fans and the league we have got the ambition that everybody thinks we havent!!!

I for one was very encouraged to see the 8 players released. To me they didn't represent the future of the club, or the best that the academy has produced - some had first team opportunities and some were sent away on loans to lower league teams. People have emailed criticising the club for letting 8 "young players" go, but there would have probably being more vocal opposition if the club had said these same players formed the future spine of the team. Hopefully its cleared some space in wages for us to pay the going rate and attract some of the talent we had on loan last season. I personally think we have suffered too long with persevering with young players who simply arent good enough, simply to justify the academy system. The academy system is great, but hopefully we will now see only the best of the youth system emerging, supplemented by quality external acquisitions. We have suffered with average for far too long, and that includes some of the players who have grown up and come through the ranks at the club.

It would appear that many supporters would like to see some of our loan signings move to the City Ground on a permanent contract.
I hope the board are listening this time and the first one they should approach is Paul Anderson. Not only is Paul the fastest player to
appear in a Forest shirt since Franz Carr but he is the only one who can keep up with Nathan Tyson and terrorise midfielders and
defenders alike.
Hopefully Liverpool will consider selling him as I feel he is going to be a major asset in the not too distant future - and I would not like him to play against us anyway!
I agree that Dexter Blackstock and Chris Gunter should be signed and definately Lee Camp. Joe Garner MUST be a regular starter too.
Billy - you already have some amazing talent to nurture during the summer and I feel you should use whatever resources given to you to secure that talent - I know you will try.

I have just read the rumours about Tyson being sold to the sheep!!!!!
I hope this is just a rumour because if he goes it will just show the ambition of our club, which is zero and has been zero for the last decade.
He always give 100% every game he never stops running and if played in the right position would score a lot more goals , playing him has a make shift winger will not get the best out of him!!!!
We need defenders because our defence was shocking last season school boy errors everygame.
I am thinking of buying a season ticket this coming season but i am going to hold off and wait and see who (if anyone) we BUY before i part with my hard earned cash.
Daz
Andy - I understand your concerns on both points but on the evidence I think they are unfounded.
I believe Forest will continue to unearth and develop gems like Lewis, Perchy, Morgan etc through the academy. But I also believe the 8 that have been released are not of that calibre (Newbold and Sinclair have been given ample opportunity) we require and will fall short at this level. The decision to release them will not just have been the managers, the academy directors and JP will have had input as well.
With regard to tall players, it has been apparent all season that we require a big centre half and forward. What a difference Dexter made ? In this league we play against teams who are big physically and we have to be able to combat that. This season we haven't been able to compete - look at the Wolves team ?
As for the football under Billy, I have enjoyed it. Yes at time we have to get a job done and it has bee hard on the nerves, but some of the football has been good and not the 'hoof ball' people were worried about.
Lets get behind the manager and give Billy a chance to build and with the aim of getting out of this division and into the Premier League. He deserves our backing for saving us this season, because under CC we would have been relegated (and I was a CC fan !).
Paul.
I am a little confused as to why 8 reserve team players have been released. As well as being young and promising players, they were part of a good set up, albeit in the reserves.
I would like some clarification into exactly what is going on at the City Ground and what are the immediate plans. Obviously the club feels these players are not needed, for some reason, financial? Then it makes you think what will happen in the coming months.
Surely young promising players like the ones that have been released should be able to play a part in future proceedings before being branded not good enough for us.
With that in mind I can only hope that maybe the powers that be are thinking that they wish to sign much better players and will with no doubt in their minds be able to do without them, due to having signed some better quality players.
If we do not sign anyone of substance or anyone remotely worthy then letting these lads go may come back to bite. We'll see!

Before i renew my season ticket could someone from the club please confirm that Billy Davies WON`T be selling my favourite player, Nathan Tyson, to of all clubs DERBY COUNTY. I just about forgave the club allowing KC to go there and for making their greatest failure our manager BUT this would be the final straw.
My money is on hold until this shocking news is confirmed.

I have just read on our website a prime example of the type of thing that worries me about the Billy Davies era at Forest, and what he may leave us with when he inevitably leaves within the next season or two.
We have for years and years, been a club that has dedicated time and money to developing top youth players, and then giving them the chance to perform at first team level. Many of whom we have made significant profits from, and have gone on to do better things, I know I don't need to name them all for you!
We have a highly successful reserve team that has been together for several years, a team that has only lost 3 games in 2 seasons.
Now what we do with them ....... release 8 of those players on a free, 8, without giving any of them a chance to see if they can step up to the next level. They must be possess a degree of talent in order to achieve what the team has done at that level, they are young lads mainly in there teens still, and they has proved themselves in the reserve team, and some have even had a taste of first team football in the lower leagues. Does it make long term sense to just cut these players loose??
I fear this is a sign of things to come, and fear Billy Davies will (to coin a phrase from Tony Mowbray last week) get 6ft 7in tall forwards, some 6ft 5in tall centre backs, put four 'doggers' in midfield and have a go that way!
I doubt any Forest supporter wants to watch that again, especially remembering state of things under the Kinnear / Megson years - and how long it took us to get back on track following that.
I hope I am proved wrong, and that we bring in genuine talent in the summer, and play football in the attractive manner we as Nottingham Forest supporters want to witness, and I hope we are successful that way.
But I fear that, as most seasons in our recent history, the optimism in the summer will quickly diminish. I predict we will be left with a team of big, aggressive, bullying donkeys that play for 1-0, by kicking and fighting and time wasting and moaning, just as Megson and Kinnear have left us with in the past.
No doubt a I will probably take a slating on this forum, and i'll probably be labelled a so called doom monger or one of the 'boo boys', but I genuinely don't really see any progress in the side since BD took over, and I don't see a manager who engulfs the traditional Forest philosophy.
I know we needed to learn how to 'win ugly' but is that going to be our sole tactic?
Are we going to lose our credentials as a club with local boys, youth, talent, and passing philosophy, and be happy with 11 big journey men who know how to see out a one nil lead we derived from long throw set piece?
Andy Walker
Just a quick reposte to the press talk article about Nigel Clough bidding £400k for Nathan Tyson, I was just wondering which of Nathan's nasel hairs does Nigel think he will get for £400k. Derby finished 1 point above us, and considering they have had more consolidation time in the CCC it represents a club in decline, and maybe we should offer £400k for Commons instead?!
Cannot wait until the transfer activity in the summer and the start of next season.

The Great Escape!!! Well done lads!!!
Right, straight to the point......BD, dont let David Pleat anywhere near that cheque book when the chairman hands you next seasons battle funds. The manager is always held responsible for any duffers which are signed and likewise basks in glory when quality is signed. Pleat however, sticks his oar in, watches us struggle and almost sink to the bottom of the league and then quite happily lets the manager take the flak.
Mr Chairman, please send Pleat out to pasture, allow BD to live or die by the sword, in BD we trust!!
Alternatively, i'll do it! For free!! Hows that for a quality signing at a great price!!! lol.

I have been reading the various comments since we became 'Safe', yes some criicism and some praise but being realistic we struggled big time to come to terms with the Champioship.
As a season ticket holder, as is my buddy John Rider and Pete from Downham Market, we have witnessed a very poor defence ( Goals against proves that )midfield going awol at times through games, and our strikers spluttering to find the net.
Yes we have shown grit towards the end of the season and battled our way to safety and we must commend them for that but and this is a big BUT, the players we have had until the loanees came were quite honestly not up to this level and it took BD to sort it out apart from a few eg Cohen, Morgan, Perch ( Cohen deserved Player Of The Year accolade).
BD is saying what he wants for next year, ND has finally come out and backed him so lets see a structured squad and players coming who will give 100% for the club and get us going forward again. After over 40 years a Forest fan I have seen the ups and downs and I just want the club to progress forward instead of the one foot forward two back scenerio we have endured over the last few years.
Let BD be the manager let him decide who comes and who goes from the club, not Mr Pleat!!!, BD has been there and done it thats why he was brought in to sort things, my Season Ticket will be renewed and I will be fully behind the team so COME ON YOU REDSSSSSSSSSS.

Anyway back on topic. It wouldnt be down to Tyson whether he stays or not, it would be down to the club if they decide to keep or sell him & i very much doubt that he would have a say at all if the club did decide to sell. I hope he does stay & i hope you are right because he can add alot to our squad next season & i rate him very highly.

Had a look at Pat McCourt. He looks an amazing player. Whether Celtic would let him go is another issue, but would be great to see him in a Forest shirt.

I'd like to think he'll much prefer to return to forest as he turned them down about going back on loan to them... and lets face it they're not Forest!

message for billy, have a look at the brighton defender andrew whing what a player. voted player of the year by the fans has been the rock in a very weak defence. I believe he has not sighned a new contract yet. get in quick!!!!

Andrew Cooper
Red Ted Junior
i think we need to make an approach for jermaine beckford if we go in with a substantial offer leeds couldnt resist !
also paul anderson ,lee camp ,dexter blackstock and chris gunter on a permanent is what we need aswell as a good center half or will
luke chambers step up to that role?
come on forest show the fans and the league we have got the ambition that everybody thinks we havent!!!
jeff (warks)

Chadders
We'll see!
Rowen Udell
Before i renew my season ticket could someone from the club please confirm that Billy Davies WON`T be selling my favourite player, Nathan Tyson, to of all clubs DERBY COUNTY. I just about forgave the club allowing KC to go there and for making their greatest failure our manager BUT this would be the final straw.
My money is on hold until this shocking news is confirmed.
Mapperley Red
