Everybody keeps going on about signing Lita, this is not a good idea in my books i hear he is nothing but a trouble couser a very idle young man who thinks he is better than he actually is . If this lad was any good then Reading would not have got rid of him , Norwich want rid of him and quick. We do not need him it is looking good for next season and we dont need a bad apple to upset the rest of our young squad.
Good to hear that we have put a bid in for the Doncaster Rovers defender Mat Mills he is a brilliant young defender one of the best in the championship, going to be hard to sign him because he has attracted a lot of attention from the big boys in the prem league.
Forget Lita he is trouble....

Daz

Got a good feeling about next season...well done Billy...a long time since i have said that.

Sincerely hope the Anderson /Tyson rumours are untrue and are not going to be this years Commons /Clingan. Cant help but smile at Marks assertion that Commons left last year because Calderwood wouldnt play him . Surely its understood that Commons and Clingan left because Forest would not pay them the wages they were looking for. I'm sure Calderwood would have given his right arm to have kept them both. They would have earned us a few more points and he'd probably still be in a job! Always felt poor old Calderwood got a bit of a raw deal. Look at the problems a massive club like Leeds are having trying to escape the graveyard of League One so Colin deserves more credit than he seems to get.
Anyway we are where we are, so on a positve note lets hope we can keep our important players at the club and also hope that Billy can marry his undoubted organisational abilities with something thats a little more pleasing on the eye than the route one stuff we've had since he took over. I understand that in the perilous situation we were in he just had to fashion results in any old way to ensure our survival and credit to him for ensuring we remained in the Championship but Nottingham Forest has always been regarded as a club that plays football the right way ,ie. on the ground, pass and move . I think this is a legacy our great club should value and strive to retain.

I am a keen reader of this fan talk page & if Lita is available on a free I can't see why we haven't been willing to go for him thus far. The only reason I can think is Billy simply isn't interested, he possesses similar strengths as Earnie and although I appreciate the work Earnie has done for us this season I can't see us ever being able to recoup the fee we paid if we don't sell soon. Lita is in his early 20's and is a player which can be worked with for years, Billy said he wanted these ideals in a press conference only a few weeks back!!!
Anderson, Gunter, Blackstock & Camp are a must. From my seat I can look down on the width of the game & Anderson provides us with the width, speed & end product, certainly better than any other midfield player we have had this season! He will certainly grow to be a premier league in the next 2-3 years, anything less than £1.5M & we will have a bargain.
All this talk of a £20m war chest, and how we will be pushing for promotion next season, we haven't had 1 bid for a player accepted yet. Although we are being linked with some good players I am seeing no desire to push on & get them signed up. If we can start next season with our defence including Gunter, Bennett, Wilson, Chambers, Lynch, Perch & Morgan I don't think our defence nees improving. We have at least 2 players able to play each position, we did look weak this season but this was a learning curve for our players & we have already improved & judging our last 6 results we our defence will hold up.
My main reason for writing in is to condemn the idea of building a new stadium, one fan referred to how it helped Arsenal, no trophies in how many years & look how they've fallen in the premier league table. Another issue is we only manage to get a in excess of 25,000 fans in on a handful of games a season, we won't fill it & it will be a drain on our already limited resources!

Right on Daz! I agree with your every word. Our goals against highlights a very fragile defence with only an improvement shown in some of the latter games.Add casual Kelv. to your named players - they are simply not good enough at this level. I am looking forward to a summer re-build.

In response to Daz, re: Chambers.
I admit I have been on his back very often this season, because he had been under performing
and wasnt looking a good CCC player. However, he had been played out of position ever since he came to the club. More often than not in the woeful 4-3-3 he would be exposed with 2-on-1's. Now King Billy has put him into his natural position I feel he looks accomplished, and Im willing to give him another chance, IN HIS NATURAL POSITION!

I know I shouldn't gloat, because it's wrong etc. but remember this...............
June 17th - 2008
Sammy singles out his motivations for choosing to move on -
"I'm absolutely delighted to be joining a big club like Norwich City. I'm leaving a good club, Nottingham Forest, to join Norwich and I'm really looking forward to trying to get them promoted to the Premier League.
"Once I had spoken to Glenn Roeder and viewed the fantastic facilities at the Club it was an easy decision to make. I knew of Glenn's managerial reputation, working with big name players in the Premier League and hopefully he will help me become a better player too. I was very impressed with what he said and his plans for the future - it really caught me and now I can't wait for the first game."

Congrats to all at NNFC for there achievements this season from the emerald isle. It was always going to be a difficult season after promotion last season, and I think we can only improve next season from our experience and under the guidance of BD and DK. I was only able to travel to one game at the city ground this season (Palace L) so hopefully there will be better trips to come.

Stephen, Eire

Travelling from Malta to be at the City Ground on May 3rd vs Southampton was a memorable day for me! At last I witnessed what is all about being at the City Ground and what a great Club NFFC is, surely a club with the pedigree to be amongst the elite in the top flight. Congratulations to all, involved at NFFC all the hard work done was all fruitful in the end, many thanks to BD, which I believe he has all the credentials to build a competitive team which can challenge for top silver wear.

Good point Red Ted (or should I say - Dad)
We do seem to have fallen into the trap of getting players on the cheap in the past only to find that they have long term injury issues. This leaves us with a disjointed squad and the injuries picked up pre-season certainly left us at an immediate disadvantage this season.
My fellow ranters will know that the jury is still well and truly out for me on Billy Davies but one thing I will say for him is that he knows enough about the Championship to know that we will get knowhere without spending a few quid.
One thing we all seem to be agreed on is that next season - all guns blazing - right from the word go.
There will be nowhere to hide then - no excuses or complaints about the age of the squad. You are a fan of 'big talk' Billy let's see now what you're really made of and maybe you can (a) prove me wrong and (b) shut me up! I certainly won't mind being wrong and in the top 3!
I just wish you'd save your big talk 'best achievement in my career' etc for when we'd actually won something. Successful managers don't need to keep telling everyone how good they are - their results speak for themselves. Brian Clough was also a fan of big talk - the difference was he had a fair collection of slilverware to strengthen his case.
Have a good summer everyone.

Red Ted Junior

We did it the hard way but mission accomplished this season.
Realistically the target was safety and anything else was a bonus.
Hopefully Billy will get the support he needs over the summer to improve the squad and start plotting our return to the big time.
A thought for next season, there must be some fans out there with the means to record a Forest cover of mul of kintyre that can be played at the City Ground to introduce the players before the game. It would sound so much better than playing the old song and the fans singing different words over the top. Let's make the City Ground a really daunting place to come to.
Congratulations to everyone at the club for this season and hears to good times ahead!
YOU REDS!!!

In reguards to bobbys comments about mr rider, its the same old story .
Bobby if forest would have been relagated this sesason then you as well as all the other fickle supporters would be the first to hammer Chambers.
Luke Chambers is a 100% worker he never gives up but the problem with him is simple he just is not good enough at championship level.
This has been proven he gets caught out of position a lot he ball watches and most of all he is far to slow.
Our defence was rubbish this season we let in more goals than we scored ,then what happened was Paul Smith got the blame from poor defending, instead of Mr Davies trying to sign strickers he MUST buy quality proven defenders.
Forest needs a massive change in the playing staff the current squad is not good enough for this division by a long way. Davies needs to go for new blood maybe a different style of football, we need to make the City ground a very hostile place because the points we took at home this season was shocking.
Forest will never improve without our chairman giving BILLY DAVIES the money he wants for players.
I always read Mr Riders comments because he tells it how it is, and if fickle so called supporters dont like it then dont read his comments!

Im liking these transfer targets what billy has shaped up for the club. We need to sign Blackstock and Camp, thats a must and gunter for RB while chambers goes into his original position of centre half because while hes been playing there we have looked a much stronger defence without Wilson. We should try and get Joel Lynch aswell as back-up for jules who will have to prove himself in front of BD and try and get his place back in the starting eleven. Sell Smith hes done well over the years for us but its time for new talent to come through he might not be doing to well for us but hes too good to be sat on the bench for us. And regarding the before game and half-time anthem why dont we keep it the same but when it says "mull of kintyre" turn the sound down and let the crowd sing "the city ground" version. I Hope we can sign David Mcgoldrick From saints and keep him as back-up for Earnshaw Or Dexter Blackstock if we sign him. Come on you reds we can get back to our old ways of winning cups and being in europe if we tryed!!

So we begin another summer full of optimism and hope.
Optimistic because the manager is talking of buying top talent that has already graced the hallowed turf by the Trent.
Hopeful, that because he has gone public with the list of players he seeks, our hitherto inept acquisitions panel will HAVE TO DELIVER, or face the public fury and humiliation of thousands of passionate reds.
For me the simplest and most effective way forward would be to let our beloved chairman sit in a room alone with the so far impressive Billy D.
That way the man with the cash listens to the man with the expectation, and the finest club in the land can finally look forward to returning to its rightful place at the top table.
Simple really!!!!
Heres to an action packed, transfer laden summertime, many in and nobody else out, enjoy the rest trickies, and we will all be ready for the new dawn.

Am i the only one who seems to be concerned regarding our possible signings for next season?
All but 2 players mentioned are players who were on loan for most of the season & whilst taking nothing away from what they achieved, do we really want to end up in the same position next season! Surely bringing in other players who had no connection to the club last season would be the best solution? If most of the players mentioned do sign for us will they peform any better than last season? If not, we will end up in the bottom 3 hence my concerns over signing these players. We need new blood, players who can take this club forward, not backwards.

In response to John Rider; Chambers has been my man of the match for the last 3 games of the season, in central defence. We are all quick to have a go at him but he has been played out of position and for a majority of the season under the previous manager was left exposed in that woeful 4-3-3 formation. Now King Billy has put him into the centre he has been immense, winning the majority of headers and looking very comfortable. I hope to see him and Wes forming a very good partnership.

So BD wants to have six strikers at his disposal next season as well as cover in all other areas. He'll need to move fast before his preferred "targets" are snapped up by other clubs. Please, please, please, this time sign genuinely fit players who have no previous history of niggling injuries, troublesome hamstrings and the like, and make sure that none of the players gets injured in so-called pre-season friendlies. I cannot understand why clubs risk pre-season friendlies so that new players can bed into the squad. Our loan players this season, Gunter, Osbourne, Camp, Lynch and Blackstock, needed no such bedding-in time at all. Last year we kicked off the season with several players unavailable as a direct result of pre-season friendlies. This time, let's hit the ground running, everyone fit and raring to go!

Best of luck BD in your efforts to sign the "right" players.

RJ
Back in the late seventies when we first started singing this, the words were much as printed by Ed, (although the verse wasn't sung as much as the chorus) the chorus began 'Forest on Fire' not 'City Ground'. The words reflected the way we played then, we were on fire and virtually invincible. We now need it to inspire our players, if the fans think they are on fire and invincible and sing it out loud, it gives them inspiration and frightens the opposition.
Run it through your head it's better as F o F than CG.

Far have we travelled : cups have we won
Beaten the best and now we're number one
Climbed every mountain and fame have we found
And we'll follow the lads from the City Ground

Could someone please email me the 'Forest' lyrics to Mull of Kintyre.
If there are disputed lyrics then could I have both versions.
Many thanks

Far have we travelled
And much have we seen

Of the boys in the Red shirts from City Ground

Oh mist rolling in from the Trent
My desire is always to be there

What a roller coaster of a season. At the start I would have been happy to end mid table, at the middle I would be happy to end 4th from bottom. If the final result had been make or break, I don't think I would be here to write my thoughts, losing 1-0 and then pulling it back when as so often has been said, the result flattered us. Having said that Garner's goal was magnificent. It will be an interesting summer and good luck to Brecks.
As regards to Mull of Kintyre, it always gives me goose bumps when the crowd sing it, how about putting the words on the scoreboard, karaoke style. Just a thought.
Have a good summer everyone

Well, a long hard season and we got what we deserved. However I want to talk about Ian Breckin. What a brilliant Forest career he has had, I wish him luck for the rest of his career and hope that somehow he is recruited within our club because he is a real leader, brilliant gentleman and well, someone who 99 times out of 100 leads by example.
New signings in the summer?
David Clarkson from Motherwell
Andrew Driver from Hearts
Dexter Blackstock from QPR
Chris Hogg from Hibernian
Chris Gunter from Spurs
Lee Camp from QPR
If they all joined, it would do me. Hope everyone enjoys their summer

Nick from Asfordby

I would like to add my congratulations to Billy Davies, Ned and the Forest team for finishing in 19th position in the Championship. Yes, it has been nail biting but after being in League 1 for too long I think it turned into a good end to the season. Thanks also to Colin Calderwood for the players he brought in and for leading us here last season.
I wish Ian Breckin good luck at wherever he goes from here, thanks.
Not wishing to take away from Joe Garner for being Man of the Match, but I would have given this to Luke Chambers who was superb in central defence and also scored a great goal. Hope Billy keeps playing him there as he looks more comfortable in this position but thank you for filling in at Right Back, Luke.

I guess one last contribution before we get ready for pre season and the start of the next big push.
Well done to the lads and I suppose some gratitude to BD for managing to keep us in the Championship. A big thank you to our on loan contingent, as large a force that is normally needed, but needed they certainly were.
A nice big and brand new cheque book will be on the menu for BD so he can have a nice shopping spree. Choose wisely Billy and fill your bags with lots of healthy, fit young lads with a passion for winning. Try to stay away from the department where the reduced prices and damaged goods are, you won't get a refund when they break. Quality goods Billy, designer labels not bargain basement! Oh yes, please leave Mr pleat at home, he fills the trolley with stuff that nobody wants.
Let's hit the ground running.

Contrary to some correspondents I enjoyed Sunday, it was nice to go to the game knowing we were safe, and didn't have to get a result. O.K. the passing ect was naff, but BD had given some of the lads who aren't regularly in the side a game, which meant we were disjointed in the first half. Second half was better and although the final score line flattered us, it was great to finish on a win.
I'd like to say well done to the lads, management (including CC) and backroom staff for making this an interesting season, let's face it, it was never boring.
My thanks to Brecks always gave 110% a true gent I will miss him, and wish him all the best for the future, whoever signs him will be getting a true professional.
My heart went out to the Southampton supporters on Sunday, we have been in their position it is not nice, but they showed how true supporters behave, cheering on their team no matter what (some of our boo boys should take note).
Right lets get ready for next season, with some new players to boost the squad, BD with a full pre-season training and friendlies under his belt, should make for a great season.
Finally how great it was to hear 28,000 plus singing to Mull of Kintyre before the game it must make the team feel great and the opposition worried. Can we please all sing the same words though. When this was first sung a good few years ago it started with the words Forest on Fire oh mist rolling in from the Trent. Not City Ground oh mist rolling in from the Trent. The original version sounds best.

Hi all just wanted to extend my heartfelt appreciation and congratulations to the Forest mgmt team on mission accomplished and a job well done. Some people are saying we shouldn't get too excited about only surviving which is true however Billy and his backroom team can only be responsible for what happens from here on in so the mistakes and frustrations of the past few seasons need to be confined to the history bin. Lets face it these past few years have been utterly disappointing and we were very fortunate to achieve promotion when we did and up until Billy and Ned arrived on the scene we were down and out heading back to league one without a whimper. So from now we have a clean slate and a whole new era to look forward, Billy is a totally different operator and has far higher expectations, abilities and ambitions than any previous manager we've had since the original special one paraded our dug out all those years ago!! Personally I was very critical of Calderwood as I couldn't see us progressing under him but I am fully 100% confident that Billy will get us into the promise land, his points tally since arriving was near play off form so with a pre season and some of his own signings under his belt we can now look forward to what will be for me the most exciting season to be a Forest fan since the Paul Hart play off season. I feel Billy has the ability to lead us into the play offs next year and I personally believe that he will lead us back into the premiership within the next two years. It's a big ask and it certainly wont be a failure if he doesn't achieve this but he has the ability, confidence and drive to achieve and quite simply because of Billy we are now excitingly looking forward to a promising Championship campaign as opposed to fourth morale sapping season in league one in the past five years. So a huge congratulations again to Billy and his back room team and also to the players who have responded superbly to his arrival, it's an exciting time, the futures very bright indeed to be a red and that's the first pre season I've felt this positive in many years supporting the reds!!! Go the Forest; enjoy the well earned summer break and let's come back bright and positive, full of confidence with the determination get back to the premiership where we belong!!!

Mark - Excited revitalised & hugely encouraged Red!!!

I think it would be a good idea for the players to record "City Ground Oh Mist rolling in from the trent..." so that it could be played before kickoff and at half time. At present people are not sure whether to sing the words to "Mull of Kintyre" or the City ground version and it makes the atmosphere not as good as it could be.

Morag Leaver

It is perhaps easy to understand the euphoria surrounding survival in the first year back to the CCC: Most of us are convinced that The Reds are poised to better things next time round.
There is general consensus on what it is needed to finally have a side that can please with both performances and results.
On a different note, a few tears were shed as Breckin was given a heartfelt salute at the end of his stay at the City Ground. Good luck mate, you will always have a place in our hearts.
Also a word of thanks to CC. He lead us to the CCC, and signed a few useful players who were at the heart of our survival effort. It is a pity that such a fine man had to go, I know we would have been down and out, yet he left us heading in the right direction. BD could add the pieces and lift the place even if the task seemed impossible after Burnley.
One final comment. Please give the West Bridgford lower back to home support. It is equivalent to the old Trent End and it is being made to work for our opponents.

A season of drama ends on the correct note, I have moaned the ups and the downs along with many a passionate fan on this site.
I was amongst the dubious sceptics when Billy boy was appointed, it wasn't that he had been at Derby it was that I felt he had spent ridiculous amounts of money on average players when at Derby, and then fell flat on his face.
But, it can be seen from performances of the last half dozen games his current set of players have the passion and desire he has obviously instilled, to succeed, I am looking forward to the rewards the manager and players has bestowed on the fans and I would like to congratulate the squad and BD wishing them good luck for next season.
we now seem to have a football manager and not a social worker !

Quite frankly I was a little disappointed on Sunday. Something was missing in my view. Was it the expectation of being involved in an afternoon of celebration and constant singing of Mull of Kintyre? Or was it a case of looking forward to watching eleven relaxed players demonstrating how good they are at producing superb quality football? Well it didn`t really happen as far as I was concerned. Even the supporters had lengthy periods of deadly silence with the faithful followers in the corner of the BC UpperTier strangely subdued. Yes we won but a score of 3-1 surely flattered us? I left the ground somewhat worried, wondering how we will cope next season.
We certainly need a target man up front as the diminuitive messrs Earnshaw and Garner simply cannot cope with aerial battles. Our midfield seemed to go awol yet again on Sunday with the opposition completely outplaying us in that area for the majority of the game. Surely BD-- we must have someone in that position who can not only mark players but can also tackle with some authority? With the superb professional Breckin playing his last game we will also require an experienced defender but I assume Chambers is already earmaked for that role. Will he be more comfortable in a central position?
This has to be the start of things for BD who hopefully will be allowed to be his own man. He undoubtedly got the players on his side in the latter stages of the season but enthusiasm and extra effort will not see us through again surely?
However it would be wrong not to congratulate everyone concerned with the team as it was undoubtedly a success story after christmas. I have my concerns though regarding the future unless we see extra faces on board. So lets hope our long suffering fans are rewarded to such an extent they don`t have to face yet another nail biting and traumatic season.
To some it might seem I`ve been harsh with my views. I`d like to think I`ve been nothing other than realistic.

Wow, what a season! Many ups & downs & ups again for NFFC! After this last game which Forest won with honours, I would like to say how happy I am today that our beloved team has stabilized this position in the Championship League for the coming season. It wasn't an easy task to do & initially everyone was skeptic if we can stay for just one season in this league after all! But here we are now! I'm more than happy not only because we are safe for another season in the CCC, but more than that because we finished not 4th from bottom ( as even BD was anticipating), but 6th from bottom! For me thats quite an achievement for our team! Well done to all & we hope that next season we will not be struggling for reasults to stay up, but we will be fighting for a place with the top 6 teams!Great thank you to BD, all the team, loanees, coaches, directors of the club & to anyone at The City Ground. Lets get as one behind our team & wish all supporters a happy summer & a tranquil one by the seaside with no worries at all & wish a huge good luck for next season to NFFC!

PS way to go billy great job mate!!! keep up good work

I just wanted to say thanks to Ian Breckin. You have been a great player and servant for the club. I hate to see you go and wish you luck in the future. Thanks for all your excellent work for the club.

Ken

a MASSIVE thank you to Brecks. I don't know of any Forest fan that would say otherwise and that says a lot!
Good luck wherever you go and I've no doubt we'll always make you welcome whenever we see you again.

Cheers Ian.

I will be sad to see Ian Breckin leave this club. Hope he stays and I think I speak on behalf of the vast majority of fans. He has been a loyal servant and came to us in 2005 when I am sure he could have gone to a CCC club. Player of the season 2005-06 and myself along with many other fans voted for him.
Any fan who was at Bramhall lane on Easter Monday cannot fail to have seen how he commanded the defence, talked younger, less experienced players through the match and won everything in the air (lets face it there was plenty of it!) He is a top professional.
Purely from a selfish point of view, I hope a role can be found for him at this club but obviously he is still a very good centre half, quite capable of playing at CCC level and he will want to keep playing. I would sooner the club release Kelvin Wilson, who could learn alot from Ian Breckin.
If you read this, thanks for your time here Brecks and all the best!

Adele McGuinness

I for one would like to thank all the loanees for their outstanding contribution to the cause. Without them we would not have achieved survival in the CCC.
And most of all a big big thank you to Brecks a true professional who ahs done all he can for the trees during his time with us. He will be sadly missed as he is not only a forest player but a true gentleman who always has time for the fans. I wish him all the very best in what ever his future as a player and beyond holds for him. And lastly a very big thank you to the manager, coaches players and staff for making sure we played CCC football next season. The performance of late has been nothing more than a miraculous turn around and ahs put the football back into NOTTINGHAM FOREST.

Well done to all at the club. Great achievement and a lot of teams will be worried about coming to the city ground next season. A Big club on the up. Which brings me to my main point of this entry on here.

TRANSFERS......
Just a few for people to rack their brains round but the last 2 to me are the most important and a few of you are going to hate me for saying the last 1.
1. Blackstock (QPR) which we all know hes on everyones list and he is a good player who wants to play for us.
2. Ched Evans (Man City) A decent player who has got a lot of a future and will bring a lot to any club he plays for and lets face it he aint going to get many first team games for Man city.
3. Beckford (LEEDS) Only if leeds dont make it up as stated before on here. God knows how many goals hes got this season i think sky sports have lost count aswel.
4. Jonjo Shelvey (CHARLTON) A lot of prospective and is he going to want to play in league 1 even though i can only see them being down for just the 1 season.
5. Michael Svensson (SOUTHAMPTON) Same as before with a great deal of experience to add to our back 4.
6. Alan Tate (SWANSEA) Not too old but not too young. Think hes had a great season with Swansea and lets face it we have got a lot more chance of getting up there than they have with £20MIL and King Billy at the thrown.
7. Georgie Elokobi (WOLVES) I have been to a few Wolves games this season as my mate is a big Wolves fan and Georgie has played amense in everyone. Hasnt had too many games though so let us give him a chance... DU DU DU GEORGIE ELOKOBI. (as you can probably guess im quite a fan of him)
AND HERES THE LAST 2
8. Lee Camp (QPR) Im not even going to bother saying why, we all know. I have to break things down for my dad as he is a Forest fan but is a bit slow (sorry dad) and all season ive been saying we have to sign him before a prem club comes along and sees him.
AND FINALLY (Im really sorry about this one)
9. CHIRS COMMONS!!!!! (*****) We let him go last season i believe on a free transfer - BIG BIG MISTAKE. If you ask me if he never went we wouldnt be down the bottom and the sheep would be even further down than they are. He scores goals, He sets up goals and he defends and does it for the whole 90 mins. What more do you want from a player. Another player who if we put an offer in for him will surely see we have a very strong promotion challenge coming up next season and lets be honest why would you choose to play for them over Forest unless he was playing for the money. Lets offer him more than they are. Please you gota get him back here.

Thanks for reading

In the euphoria of staying up, can we all spare a thought for the Reserves, who have finished in 2nd in their league, bl***y marvellous. It looks good for the future. WELL DONE PEMBERTON & THE BOYS.
Now let's have a great party on Sunday and look forward to next season. Sing our hearts out for the lads, but please can we not deride Southampton, after all we have been in their place and know how they feel.
Looking forward to my 43rd season supporting FOREST

Hi to all Forest fans, just returned from a holiday to Canberra and found the good news of Forest surviving the drop, During April had my 80th birthday which meant it was 70 years since watching Forest for the first time and being a supporter ever since so staying up was a great b/d present. before I left for Canberra I received an e/m from old timer Worksop asking me to revive the kangaroo again and get the bone working against the teams in the relegation battle, as the results show he was once again successfull, (good on you Kanga)congratulations to all those involved in this seasons efforts and lets hope the 20 million being spouted eventuates to set Forest on the way to the premiership next season, what a game it will be Sunday with a full house to roar on the reds, untill next season all the best...

It's not even May!
In May 1977 the feeling was just as sweet as the promise of spring!Staying up bring back that feeling! Possibilities, improvements, potential to grab this division by the horns! Thanks to Mr. Colderwood for steering us up last season! Look at the margins last May and where Carlisle United are now. Colin shall never be gorgotten! Mr. Davies to me seems like the first gaffer since Brian that are not bothered at all by the everlasting sunshine of the Brian Clough stand. Enjoy your summer everyone!
All the best,

Oh David, it is no small wonder that you are exiled in Derby. You must be feeling a bit sheepish now after getting your figures wrong.
Any more mistakes like that and you will be exiled from the land of the sheep to the land of the frogs!
Currently Forest have secured 50 points in 45 games.
CC's teams accrued 21 points in 25 league games, like you said.
JP's side took 3 points from it's 1 league game, not mentioned by you.
BD's selections have taken 26 points from the remaining 19 games, not 23 from 23.
I have to agree with you though CC did get some good backing in the summer, although he did not get it in January of our promotion season just like BD did not get it this year. Perhaps this is a policy of the board just to go through the motions to hoodwink the fans into believing that they really tried, when all the time they had no intentions of adding to the squad, unless they found a genuine bargain. And please board, this time no more ancient has-beens, they are a waste of money, but you can hang on to Breckin as a backup defender and a thankyou for his loyalty and effort.
The main reason for this email is not to condemn David, but to point out that Bill'y record is pretty decent. Taking 26 points from 19 games is eqivalent to 1.368 points a game, even with the bad run in it. This would give us 62 points from our 45 game played and place us in 10th position. This would have been excellent for our first season back in the Championship. It also defines Billy's with his least acceptable finishing place next season as being 9th, to provide improvement over what he has achieved here so far. Any less than this he will surely consider to be a failure. With these thoughts in my head it seems to me that a target of no less than becoming the champions will be Billy's aim. Obviously every team in every league should have this as their prime target, but most will have lesser more realistic target positions. This year I think Billy will accept no less than finishing in the top 6 which does not neccessarily mean promotion but it will be a season to be proud of. If the team is not ready for promotion, and Billy will have learnt from his time with the sheep, about the humiliation of trying to compete with the best, when you are simply not ready. So on second thoughts he may just accept 7th if they are not quite ready. Anyway it looks like a great season to come after the demoralising times we spent down in the 3rd division, struggling to compete with what I consider to be lesser clubs. Mind you having said that about not going up, the parachute payment if we came straight back down would help us to get right back, with a better and more experienced side.
There I go again getting all exited about next season when we still have one match to go.
Enjoy the party.
The future's bright, the future's red.

A very tense nail biting season of ups and downs with survival our best and most realistic outcome in my honest opinion. To see established teams such as Charlton, Southampton and maybe Norwich going down it just goes to show what a highly competitive and unpredictable league the Championship has become. With a young squad I think we can regard this season as a success in this current climate of football madness. It may not be considered a success considering our history but we are where we are and this could prove to be a crucial stepping stone for both the squad and the manager.
Just reading some reports today and a proposed £20 million 'war chest'... Who knows but I would like to think we can forge a squad with a nice blend of experience and stoic battlers alighned with youth , skill and pace over the summer. This is fast becoming the hardest league in europe to get out of never mind the survival in the PL.
Well done to the squad and BD.

Rich Phelan

Hi Editor and everyone associated with Nottingham Forest Football Club,
Firstly I would like to say well done to the staff and the players for their achievements this season. I for one would have taken survival at the beginning of the season and I am sure there are more fans out there who feel the same!
I still feel buying my season ticket for this year was the right decision. I will be there on Sunday and will definitely be in the mood for a party!
After Sunday is out of the way, the players need to rejuvenate and get themselves up to full fitness for the start of next season. I think the purchase of one or two of our loan signings would improve the squad immensely (notably Paul Anderson, Dexter Blackstock and Isaiah Osbourne). Billy needs to be backed by the board and be allowed to sign the players HE wants. This leads me on to the role of David Pleat. I know I have the same feeling over this man as the rest of the Nottingham Forest supporters. What does he actually offer the football club? I think I actually know more about players than this man. I see his role as being a huge waste of money and it would be better spent on another member of the coaching staff. I feel that if we make four or five signings over the summer then we can become a huge force in this division next season (for instance, if we make Blackstock a permanent signing then we probably have one of the best attacks in the division with Earnshaw and Tyson).
Billy Davies and his team have my 100% support, I can not wait for Sunday, and good luck for the future lads!
YOUUU REDSSSS

Well done lads! Mission accomplished with a game to spare. Now I'm not getting carried away, here but I am very pleased. We have had a lot to contend with this season. More than our fair share of injuries (and not a big enough squad to cope), adjusting to a new league, going on bad runs, changing managers etc...
We can now take stock, Billy has had time to assess the squad and the players we need. He can build his own squad, have a full pre-season with them and should only be properly judged this time next season.
Lets be positive but patient, hopeful but REALISTIC. Mid-table to 10th consolidation would be fine, but I certainly wouldn't say no to or rule out a possible promotion push - it's what Billy Davies does.
Finally, well done Billy, Ned and the management team for keeping us up - I was happy Billy got the job as I believed he was the man best qualified for the job at the time. He has proved this and will hopefully continue to take this club forward and eventually back to where we want to be!
By the way David - exiled in Derby, Billy has taken 26 points from 19 league games this season (pre-Southampton) compared to 21 points from 25 games under Calderwood. I make that 5 more points in 6 less games with a squad that wasn't his - no comparison really!!! (Pemberton took charge of the other league game we played, beating Norwich away 3-2).
Bring on the party on Sunday - Billy Davies Red & White Army! You Reds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dean, Ruddington

just like to thank all the players manager and staff for a fantastic job in keeping the best team in the land where they belong and the premier league here we come will a few good sighnings we will sure to be up there next season bring on a win against southampton and end the season on a high wish i could be there but a bit to far from brisbane australia so all have a great day well done again

david - exiled in derby

Lets not get carried away with staying up .
Lets look at the facts we were in the bottom 6 all season conceeded more goals than we scored and lets face it all these loan players in the team is nothing but a short fix.
Billy Davies as done brilliant lets just hope in this closed season that the BOARD give him the money to build a strong squad which i doubt very much , so all you fickel fans what have emailed in saying by this time next season we will be in the big time ..... WISE UP!!!!
We need investment and strong hard cash for the playing staff . Well thats if DP lets Billy sign anyone LOL what a joke!!!!!
We have got away with murder this season so lets wait and see what the Board is made of ......sink or swim?????

daz....

charlie. Whats this about CC not being backed?
Earnshaw, Moussi, Anderson, Garner, etc etc It was CC who decided to stop buying.
We had one of the most expensive recruitment campaigns in the championship last summer, so the arguement that CC wasn't backed does not hol anyway water.
Oh by the way. CC's record was played 25 games won 21 points.
Davies on the other hand has not been able to bring in any permanant signings and from 23 games won 23 points.
In addition to this, CC started the summer with a clean slate, high morale and a pre season. Davies took over a demoralised team that couldnt even persuade dele adebola to join us.
So Charlie I would say to you, dont worry about the club not being backed. It is!

I agree with Pete Mallison about the Saints game. Lets be good to them. It's not like they are Derby which lets face it would bring a smile to all our faces.
We have been there and it wasn't great, and to lose 10 points because they are skint is a bitter pill to swallow especially for the people for whom the financial aspects do not affect. But with that aside I would not say go easy on the pitch though, lets do a job on them and score like scoring is going out of fashion. It may be hard on those fans but football is football, they'll understand.
I am hoping sod's law won't apply and the opposite happens and they give us a kicking, sorry guys I can be pessimistic sometimes but you know what I mean.
C'mon you reds, do the bizz, and make winning a habit for next season.

Rowen Udell

A huge relief and sleepless nights for the past few weeks was the menu I digested being a Forest fan for the past forty eight years.
Dedication and pure drive to succeed when it mattered most was very evident, when all looked like we were going down.
The players need to be congratulated for their efforts to beat that terrible trap of gloom and more so our manager BD for his leadership and guidance keeping us up.
We now need to plan and move forward TO NEXT SEASON WITH ONLY ONE AIM AND THAT IS BACK TO TOP FLIGHT FOOTBALL IN THE PREMIERSHIP A PLACE THIS BIG CLUB BELONGS.

Michael Rose

Just like to say well done to all envoled with Nottingham forest for the big effort to stay up. I couldn't really see it happening after the match against Doncaster last boxing day but fair play to billy he certainly install a fighting spirit in the team that we never saw under CC. Have a good day sunday on the pitch and off wish i could be there but i'll be listening and i want to hare all you forest fan sing your hearts out like you have all season.

Chris Sweden

Dear Editor and Nottm Forest Fans all around the world,
We did it!!! Yea, we did it. First of all, thanks Colin Calderwood. He did a big change in our squad. Boys have been growing up in the past few years. Then, Mr. BD, I owe you loads.
At first, I doubted your ability with your past background from Derby when you stepped into City Ground. Anyway, My attitude has completely changed because of your performance. The way you did it. I thank you loads!!! Please accept my appreciation and trust in you. Moreover, your selected players on loan were completely great when they blended with our squad. Boys got a chance! Well, about players, I would like to thank you each and everyone of you especially Perch, Breckin, Camp, Blackstock, Gunter, Lynch!!!!!! (now you're my favorite one!!!), McGugan, Morgan, Tyson and sure for you Earnshaw!!!
Well the second thing i would like to say is I agree with Andy Vardy. Mr. Pleat, please walk out. Or if you wanna stay, please do not intervene our BD's decision. MR. BD knows what to do.
I am now really looking forward seeing our squad next season. We will get stronger and stronger.

Just writing from Canada to add my ecstatic congratulations on surviving relegation. Haven't seen the Reds lately but am looking for a better season next year. Following the ups and downs over the last couple of months has brought on more than a few grey hairs. Well done to the team and Billy. Time to celebrate then the hard work of building a team to go to the Prem. See you next year.

Glad we're safe but concerned for next season. If the club's strategy of not backing the manager with transfer money and complete managerial control over who to buy we will end up in the same position as this year. Billy is no nurturer of young talent. He will need to buy. That is his strength. By the way, one other worrying thing is that even though Billy has been backed he has still only guided the team to the same position as it was in when he arrived!! We would probably have been relegated if he hadn't have been backed. His record would have been worse than the previous manager and CC didn't have the luxury of being handed several quality loan signings. He had to do it with what he was given i.e. next to nothing. If the policy of the club does not change we will continue to lose good managers. Billy won't put up with that situation for long.

Charlie, Sherwood

Just wanted to add my thanks and well done to all of the others flowing into the website. I really had times when I didn't think we were going to make it, but one or two good signings have made all the difference. It would be fantastic if we could build on this next season and be battling at the other end of the table come April 2010. Looking at the' Press' section, Dexter describes us as a 'massive club,' which we are, but doesn't it make you feel proud when a player from another club says it.
Well done all, lets have a carnival on Sunday and I hope you guys enjoy a well earned break.

Congratulations Billy!!! and all at Forest, from all Maltese Forest Supporters , Next Sunday will be a dream for me because am going to be at The City Ground for the first time ever and be part of the celebrations. Well done to Billy Davies and all the players at our beloved club for finally finding some passion and fighting spirit. Now we are confirmed as safe we must get behind the manager and look forward to the new season. Come on ND dig deep, get rid of pleat and back BD so that we can get this club back into the Prem. Heres my shopping list for the summer,
1. Lee Camp (class)
2. Gunter - Permanent (quality)
3. Paul Anderson- Permanent (brilliant)
4. Ozzy - Permanent
5. Dexter Blackstock
6. If Leeds fail (come on MK) BECKFORD. surely a lg1 club can't ignore a couple of mil when dangled in front of them.
Come on Reds lets show the sheep how its done. PS Bring on the toon!!

Andy Vardy

Congratulations Nottingham Forest!
To achieve survival in the Championship with such a young squad with so many injuries is remarkable.
Congratulations Billy Davies!
Your robust attitude and leadership with regard to selection of loan players has no doubt, kept Nottingham Forest on track in their endeavour to climb back to past glory.
Most important. Billy Davies has at every opportunity reminded the fans how important they are to this football club and he has gratefully thanked those who truly support Nottingham Forest.
Now is the time to continue with our support for Billy Davies and Nottingham Forest. Not fall back into the fickle 'bad mouthing' and lack of support every time we have a poor result. The fans are the twelfth man. Billy Davies has drummed that fact into the supporters since his arrival. And I believe that those true supporters have contributed to Nottingham Forests survival.
Sunday is a day to raise the roof at the City Ground and to remind the players that we will back next season with even stronger support.
We are Nottingham Forest
We have not lost that loving feeling!
Come on you Reds.

Robbie Wright

We can now draw a line under a season that at one stage only promised relegation. At the start of the season we all said that so long as we finish fourth from bottom and stay here, we would be happy! Well I am now Happy.
Just dig deep Mr Chairman and make sure the Manager gets the money he needs

Congrats lads, absolutely amazing effort for a young squad with so much potential. You've gained a lot of experience this term, and I hope you all stay together for the next couple of years at least, to reap the rewards of hard work and up-coming talent. Don't go chasing the dollars, bring Forest with you up the leagues.

Will Parry Brown

It`s a real sign of how far we`ve declined that 'surviving' in the Championship has now become ' success'.
I hope BD will now prove himself as a good manager and not another Joe Kinnear by making some hard decisions regarding the squad. There are at least 6 maybe more who aren`t upto CCC standard who need moving out.
I wonder what Sammy Clingans thinking now?

Mapperley Steve

Not wanting to dampen all the enthusiastic praising of Billy Davies but if you consider what he has done in the cold light of day..
Moved us up a position or two in the league having been allowed to bring in a few players of his choosing - Gunter, Blackstock, Osbourne, McSheffrey, Turner. In fact weren't we in the same positon after Pembertons short reign? I am sure others including Colin Calderwood and Pemberton would have kept us up with this number of additions.
Billy you've done ok but nothing great yet so calm down a bit - most intelligent people can see through comments like 'the proudest moment in my career' and the continual self praising.
The jury's still out for me.

Alan Johns

Phew! Didn't think I could get that excited about anyone other than Forest scoring!! Thanks Reading (good display as well - good passing side) My mate in the office bet me a fiver Forest would go down - he's trying to wriggle off the hook today and saying 'technically the season isn't over' I'm not having any of it - he'd better just cough up!
A nice relaxed Sunday ahead. Here's to an injury free start to next season and a summer move for Blackstock and Camp.
Best Wishes - Up the Reds

I'm really looking forward to Sunday now, with the pressure off us let's hope we can put on a show and play some good football to cap off what has been a very difficult and nervy season. Let's not be too hard on those Saint's fans, we've been there and know what it's like and even if they make it through the summer they've got to start in league 1 with minus 10! Well done so far Billy, now the hard work starts again building for next season. Bring on the Geordies!

Well thats a relief, thanks to Reading, now comes the hard work and we must not sit on our laurels over the Summer BD has got to get the right players in now, no mistakes like last year eh.
He has got some excellent loan players in Gunter, and Blackstock, have both stated they want to stay so lets go all out and keep them, Chambers has looked more at home at centre half, a keeper is a must and a quality striker and another defender, looking forward to a stress free day on Sunday lets finish on a high.
Well done BD I had my doubts you could do it but full credit to you and the players and staff for the superb run in and safety, next year bodes well now.

You Reds - Well Done!!
All your hard work and tenacity has paid off and your thoroughly deserve to stay up.
Praise over and on with the real task of getting into the Premiership where you truly belong.
Thank you

WHOOOHOOO!! A BIG congratulations to the manager, the players, the fans, the board, the back room staff, and everyone right down to the tea lady who put theirselves into keeping this club in a decent league.
I'd also especially like to thank Mr. Doughty for running this club sensibly and using his business accumin to steer us clear from any financial problems like Southampton have recently had. I've been critical regrards some of the boards decisions over the years, not least of which was the lack of players bought in during this years Jan transfer window, but now we've crossed the finish line we can learn from such mistakes and build for the future.
Next year I'll be happy with mid-table mediocrity and solidifying our presence in this division, especially if we put into place stratergies for the future. The fans also need to be realistic and not go down the route of teams such as Charlton, Spurs, and even Hull, who overachieve then become unsatisfied and make rash changes when not hitting those heddy heights again.
Lets use this season as a platform to build upon, learn from the past mistakes of not taking opportunties when they arrise (Jan transfer, Robbie Blake, building on the playoff season team under Paul Hart etc.), and have a rosey red future!

UUUU REEEEEEEEDDDDDDDS!!!!!

Well done to all the staff and players at our great club, and a special big thankyou to SHANE LONG of Reading!
I hope all those doubters who were so critical of BD when things were not all going well will now stand up and admit they were totally wrong not to give him a chance, this manager is quality, his energy and motivational skills are second to none, also his attention to detail as all the players have mentioned.
We now go to very difficult away fixtures prepared, and don't get `ambushed' as so to speak, with red backsides.
Another big mention must also go to John Pemberton for his guidance when in temporary charge and the way we went to Norwich and took them apart, what a massive 3 points that has turned out to be, WELL DONE JOHN !
But lets not get too carried away by predicting promotion next season, this is a tough league and aiming for mid table security is our first target, anything better is a bonus but would be most welcome.
Hope the management team are now given the backing they deserve and the manager is allowed to target who HE wants, and realistic bids are put in NOT TOKEN GESTURES to keep the fans appeased.
ONWARDS AND UPWARDS, YOU REDS! YOU REDS! YOU REDS!

Steve Clayton, reds fan of 33 years.

Nail biting over, thank you Reading for that. Tickets booked for Sunday, Block Z, Lower Bridgeford. Just wanted to be there to cheer them on and enjoy the last match knowing we're safe. I've been sceptical about BD's appointment, but I'll eat humble pie and say well done, you've done a fantastic job since you've arrived. Let's all just get behind the club and enjoy a fantastic day on Sunday.
Looking forward to a successful season for 2009/10

Ok, big sigh, deep breath, we are safe!
Thats sounds so sweet.. I to had to try and explain to my girlfiend how important the Norwich game was for us & she had honestly thought that i had flipped my lid whilst cheering Reading that night! She couldnt understand why for one night only, i would become a huge Reading fan. Oh well enough said, we are safe & role on next season! BD can finally bring in some decent footballers & playing in the championship should be so much easier to bring players in..

L Sharp

Thank you Billy! It has been a long and difficult season for both players and fans!! But I am now so excited to see what Billy can do next season, with a group of players he has adapted and worked with over summer. Im praying the board will back you Billy, which they failed to do at their first chance in the January Transfer window.
Sunday's game at the city ground is going to be a party, let's enjoy it and get some confidence for next season!
Again, thank you for ensuring our safety Billy, I think I can talk for most forest fans in saying that relegation would have been another embarrassing and deflating chapter in forests history!

Congratulations to everyone in the club for surviving the Championship's marathon! Thumbs up to the players that put all their effort and heart all these months and especially Mr Davies for saving what was lost a couple of months ago… Thank you Billy, you're probably the best manager Forest had for many, many years! Let's stop arguing and moaning about everything, all of us must celebrate on Sunday and leave the long stressing period behind! Let's pray that this is the start of a glorious era and be patient for the months to come. This is the key of the club's future success! I guess I'm about to miss the most enchanting atmosphere of the last 5 years or so on Sunday… COME ON YOU REDS!!!

Thank goodness. I can now throw away all the permutations that could have led to our relegation or safety. I tried explaining it to the wife but when it came to goal difference I had to give up I`m afraid. Look dear I said it`s quite easy really. If we lose we could stay up or even go down ---but if we draw that doesn`t make us safe because we might be relegated but on the other hand we could still stay up-----and If Norwich win their next game I might not be in a good mood. On the other hand you`ve got to remember Plymouth play Barnsley in their last game. So I told her it`s quite straight forward really. But what happens if we (and she actually said we!) win our last game? You`ve got it I said.
So Mr Grumpy became Mr Happy last night with Norwich losing to Reading and I immediately told the wife to forget everything I`d said. But I told her it all starts from here. We`ve got to get it right for next season. This is where Mr Davies shows us all how good he is. He`s done well so far coming to the team especially where it stood in the league table. What about getting some of those players we see on the telly all the time said the wife. Their teams seem to be doing ok. It doesn`t work that way I told her. Anyway the manager might think the players we`ve got now will be ok for us. I hope not said the wife. I can`t do with another season like this one ----especially Saturday nights!
I wonder if she`s worrying too much or will BD make her happy?

John Rider delighted Old Timer Worksop

I'd just like to thanks to wee billy for coming in and keeping us up. He had his doubters after his appointment but given half a season he has stopped the unimaginable prospect of relegation back into league 1 from happening. If forest had stuck with the previous manager I firmly believe we would have been relegated by now. so thanks billy! Now lets watch him really put his mark on the squad over the summer and roll on next season where i'm confident of a comfortable mid table finish or maybe even better.

great result last night and for the first time in i don't know how long we can go into a game without the worry of where we are going to end up afterwards.
many congratulations to Billy Davies, I knew he was good for this club and said on this web site months ago that he would do the job. Now its time to open up the cheque book and allow Billy to build up his own team and allow him to sign good quality championship players. We have seen from his dealings in the loan market that he knows exactly what this club needs and I beleive that Billy can take us up to the top. But lets not get to carried away, lets find our feet first, we have escaped by the skin of our teeth this time, lets now start to build a solid future for this club and its fans.
I have to agree with earllier comments about the positoning of the away fans at the city ground, we have been told time and time again that they cannot be put in the BC Lower but somehow this changed when we played Wolves a few weeks ago! When you look at how few away fans some teams have brought to the City Ground I cannot see why this is not possible.
Can't wait till Sunday, i get the feeling its going to be a good day

I would like to congratulate Billy Davies, his coaching staff and his Forest players on a wonderful achievement on staying in the Championship! When we lost to Burnley i thought we were dead and buried but what a job that they all have done to pull this Great club around!! Let's just hope we can bring in some quility players(I think Billy will) and hopefully keep our loan players for another year or so! Oh! and last but not least! Hope we can finally STUFF the horrid derby next Season!!

Not long since my last contribution to the forum, but now with the greatest pleasure and and a huge helping of relief, a big thank you to Reading for beating Norwich and poor old Delia will be cooking up something to ease the pain. What can I say? Relying on others isn't the way it should be done really but hats off to Reading who inadvertently helped us out even if they do care less about our plight.
They are where we should be at least, but beggars can't be choosers I guess. Now, calm down guys, take a deep breath, enjoy the southampton game and like I said before feel relief for staying up but lets not forget how disappointing this season was, so onwards and upwards.

Well done to everybody at this fantastic club now lets see NDs ambition for this club and sign DB PA and LC at least.
we really need to bolster this team with a few good signings plus the introduction of a few more academy players would be good.
If this happens then we should be pushing for at least a play off place next season .
I think i owe BD and NDs decision to bring him in a big apology as he has done what we all wanted to see Forest in the championship again .

Absolutley wonderful result last night at carrow road,up the reading. But most of all a big thankyou to billy davies, coming to forest took a lot of bottle what with all of his d***y connections & all the anti feelings he had to put up with.He has proved his ability as a top class manager & another season in the championship is more proof. Don't want to say I told you so but back in january I said on these very message boards that we need to give him a chance & put aside all the negative talk of being an ex sheep dipper. He has proved the majority of us all very wrong. Also,I don't see many trees being pulled up at the sheep pen. All this talk about nigel being their saviour etc…………..dont think so!!!! Once again thankyou billy & ned & all the backroom staff,we could'nt have done it without you. COME ON YOU RED EN'S!!!!!!!!

Well done to Billy and the boys and pemberton and mr doughty for his continued cashflow, we know you have got plenty but we know its not endless.
A bit of a polite reply to Neil Harrison, what you have said makes sense but as we all know no change will be made, as the away fans in the lower bridgford stand dont mix with the home fans before or after the game because when they come through the car park it is a different dimension and no one can see them,( tongue firmly in cheek ) you not what i mean maties.
Anyway back to reality, weve done it and the REDS ARE STAYING UP, THE REDS ARE STAYING UP E I EDIO THE REDS ARE STAYING UP.
Champions elect for next season (sorry i cant get this tongue out of my cheek)
Sing your hearts out for the lads on sunday so they can hear us the other side of Nott'm.
Cheers everyone
COME ON YOU MIGHTY REDS

Phil of the forest faithful

YESSSSSS, Get in there!
So relieved we wont have to sweat it out on Sunday.
G'wan Forest, the charge for next seasons play-offs can start today!
Well done all at the City Ground!
PS - don't let young Garner go, he'll get over 20 goals next season if given the starts.

A wonderful result tonight by Reading sends the Mighty Forest into their second successive season in the Championship, GET IN!!! A big thank you needs to go to all those that we're involved in a positive way in the cause of keeping Nottingham Forest in the fight for their successful return to the Premier League. CC, JP and BD plus all the backroom staff.
Now we can look forward to some cracking wins against the Direby, L********R, West Brom, Peterbourgh, Leeds (maybe) and the rest of the nobodies of the Championship, furthermore some top class summer signings. Let's hope the Chairman has learnt some sobering lessons from past experiences with football managers he has had dealings with in past unproductive trophyless seasons.

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kind regards
Matthew Mead

Never has a Monday evening visit to the pub been more stressful...but my god, cheers Reading, the beer tasted good.

Hic!! with a massive smile - thanks Billy & Co.

At last we can all relax on sunday....for the 1st time this season i reckon....
Been going home and away since the 1967/8 season (over 40 years now!) & reckon i've aged by about 10 years in the last 2 seasons.
Billy has done a fantastic job and especially in bringing in some outstanding loan signings. All have done well, & i would love to see them all here next season. I know that won't be possible but i'd like to think we can secure the signings of Lee Camp, Dexter Blackstock and Paul Anderson as realistic targets. Gunter is going to make a cracking player as is Osbourne.
My player of the season Chris Cohen, simply not had a bad game & one of the highlights of the season was to see him tell Savage what he thought of him in that cup tie at Derby.
Robbie's goals have been vital & i would back him to get 25 plus if he can stay fit next season for most of the games.
High points of the season....Away - winning at Man City, Norwich & Reading.... plus the drama of the 2 games at Derby
Home - Bristol City (Dont want to mention the low points, obviously 2 games v Derby. I acually think our worst performance of the season was at Watford, although i know we got hamered at Wolves and Burnley)
I have one further wish and that is that the club finally do something about where we put away fans. The Bridfgord lower should be home fans.
I would put the away fans in the Brian Clough stand at the trent end end of it if you know what i mean. I would split the top tier of the BC stand into approx 3 blocks of 2000 & the lower tier into 3 blocks of 1000. On average we could then allocate 1000-3000 for most games for away fans which for most teams would be ample. For cup ties when we have to allocate 15% (4500 approx) i'm sure some arrangement could be made for splitting the BC stand in half to give that 4500.
Having both ends would help turn the CG into a fortress

Neil Harrison

Well done to everybody at Forest ! Congratulations!
Please stick by our crop of young players and build around them, there are several future stars amongst them. Don't start spending money on ex-Premier has-beens!
Well done BD and staff, well done players ! Let's not forget the points that John Pemberton earned also, they have proven crucial, thanks John!

I would like to congratulate you Billy, and also the Boys for attaining the required league position to ensure another year in the Championship. To Billy I say that you have earned the respect of most of the doubters, of which group I certainly belonged. You have taken on a team of young lads with potential and have brought them a long way in a short time. Provided that all your deals in the transfer market come to fruition, and I do hope that you have the majority say in who you want, then I believe this could be the start of something good. It may take a couple of years to build the right squad and for our young lads to mature but you have convinced me that you know what you are doing, and will get us up to the Premier division. The relaxed look on your face when being interviewed after the Blackpool match was that of a man full of the confidence of his own ability and of the team as well.
Thank you Billy, I am a convert

Well done BD and the Reds!!! Safe at last with one game left, As a doubter of Mr. Davies I am happy to eat humble pie, But the last three months have seen a visible change in the Forest sides attitude& commitment, That's all down to the brilliant management skills of Mr. Davies and his backroom staff breathing belief in to a young Forest side to the point of if we had succumed to League ! Mr. Davies was still the man to lead us back! Stability is what we need ,a leader and not constant chopping and changing in the management seat.
So safety assured lets build now !!! for a more determined assault on the championship title . Come on board room & Mr. Chairman give the management money to buy the tools to do the job !!! Lets secure the signitures of Blackstock & Camp immeadiatley before someone else snaps them up they want to come, so stop pratting about and sign them!!
Lets see some action and bring in some more quality signings and get rid of some dead wood who are not good enough, Pleased to see my season ticket price has been held, going to break in to my season ticket piggy bank now and look forward to a new season and a new challenge and hopefully an assault on the title next season!!!! Comon you Reds!!!!!
