Wow, simply stunning football tonight (Morecambe)!

bring back Harewood to the city ground and even david johnson for them to join force to bring forest to top of the championship n let them be goal machine's again

1st THANKYOU PAUL SMITH!!! What a save, it was the difference in coming away with the point. That said the rest of the game was great to watch. Forest dominated much of the game against what must be one of the tougher sides in the league. Earnshaw had some magnificent feed ins but we need to give him someone to connect to in the box as we won very few headers there. The defense looked a little spotty when Reading made a run at them but there was some excellent hurry to get to the ball before they could have a decent chance. What can I say about Moussi, Wonderful find! Man I am glad I can see you guys this year! I do have one disappointment though. Last year we had 20,000 give or take come out for the league 1 games. Yesterday was the 1st game, and a very good one, after PROMOTION! In league 1 I can understand that it was the die hards that came out but are there only 20,000 Forest fans in all of Nottingham? Where have all the fans gone to paraphrase an old song. I hope to see a full house next we play at home, the lads worked their butts off yesterday and deserve to see better than a partly full stadium. I will be at one of the season openers next year, coming from Canada and extending my vacation time just to be there (couldn't this year due to health probs). Hoping the play is up to the standard set yesterday for the rest of the season.

I have refrained from commenting on this site since politely inviting Gary Megson to do the honourable thing and resign, which I am pleased to say he did after the very next game!
The Calderwood era has perplexed me at times; the bizarre formations, the persistence in playing people out of their natural positions and his natural inclination towards defensive substitutions when the opposition was 'there for the taking' all tested one's patience. On the other hand all his signings have been successful and it was clear that we were steadily building a new young squad, so it was a case of fingers crossed and eventually the miracle happened.
I would just like to say that the performance against Reading was the best I have seen for several years. Moussi and McGugan in particular were totally dominant in central midfield. With Morgan and Wilson in central defence and Smith in goal we have a physically strong spine which will comfortably deal with most teams in this division. All we need is a cutting edge and of course we all knew we would struggle with Earnshaw up front on his own but (and here comes the criticism of the manager) what on earth were we doing with Davies (right-footed) on the left and Cohen (left-footed) on the right?
Colin, please scrap this experiment immediately before you become attached to it! I am sure you will have to persist with the same formation for Swansea away, but for heaven's sake swap these two over and we might just get behind the opposition defence. In the longer term I hope that we will always play two strikers, which means no place for Perch in the starting eleven (well as he played on Sunday).
Anyway, the purpose of this message was not to criticise but to say how pleased I was to see such a committed display, full of confidence and fluent passing. I don't see many other sides being able to boss the game for long periods against Reading, so I think we can look forward to a great season. We are definitely good enough for this Division on this showing.

So as usual we are unlucky with injuries we need an emergency loan signing I would go for Micheal Mifsud Coventry are not playing him something went wrong with his Bristol city transfer Coleman refuses to play him as far as I know he is training with the under 18s he scored 17 goals 2 of them was when he humiliated manchester utd last season we could loan him by next season he will be on a free transfer

For the first time in years we looked like a football team. There's a lot of positives to take from yesterdays performance and once the forward line is fit and there's someone for ''Earnie' to play off I'm sure we'll be opening up defences and the goals will come. Did we miss the 'star' players that made their way out of the club last season?..............errrr no I think the answer is :-) Moussi is the find of the season at any level, Earnshaw worked his socks off and the rest of the team stepped up to the plate and were there to be counted. I dare say that someone will be moaning that Smith flapped at a cross in the 2nd half instead of congratulating him for his fingertip save which earned us a point. Thanks must go to the board for having a resolute plan and seeing the bigger picture when the rest of us were calling for the managers head on a plate and a big well done to Colin Calderwood and his staff for shaping the team into what looks like a very competent group of players. On that performance I think we have shown we can more than look after ourselves in the CCC and if we can get 2-3 results under our belt confidence should grow. For those of you who still view the 80's through rose tinted spectacles. I suggest you read Duncan Hamilton's, "Provided You Don't Kiss Me" and then perhaps we can put the past to bed and look onwards and upwards.

Myself and Old Timer Buddy enjoyed the game on Sunday, Moussi excellant and a great buy, our worry is scoring goals Rob did his best but needs help, Davies seems to lack a bit of confidence at present needs to take people on and whip some crosses in.
Bennett solid as ever, Morgan had Lita in his pocket all game apart from one little slip and thats what we cannot do, concentrate for the whole game 1 slip will costs us in this league, Smiths save superb we were right behind it and it looked in until a massive palm appeared to claw it away, he tended to revert back to the Tom, Dick and Harry ball in the 2nd half after using it well in 1st half, our small strikers are not going to win many of those.
Overall we competed well and I hope CC can get a couple of people on loan to tide us over, as we are very short of players and and cannot affored to amble for a couple of months, I am sure he is well aware of this, keep it up lads will be behind you all 100% as long as the committment stays the same as it was yesterday.

Well that was an encouraging start to our Championship campaign. How uncalderwoodesque!
What a refreshing site to see the team playing the ball - very cleverly at times, with some crisp short passing. We utilised the flanks well - and looked like a Championship side for most of the game. I won't get carried away because it's going to be a long hard season - however, on this showing we certainly have a decent platform to build on. I hope Mr Calderwood can continue to get the team playing with such style. I think most of the players had a decent game - Ernie impressed as did Mr Moussi - what a player he looks. We are going to need a little cover up front - that's all that was lacking yesterday and only because of injuries. So well done.
Keep it up everyone.

Glad the new season in Premiership B has finally got under way.
Was looking to see if we could match a team that was in the top flight last season, and we did. The team was industrious in mid-field and organised at the back. Wish we could have scored but sure that will come. We needed to get the ball on the deck and keep it to frustrate Reading which I feel we did a lot of the time, it's what Donny did most successfully against Derby (ha ha) And we finally didn't freeze infront of the Sky cameras!!
What can I say about Guy Moussi!!! Couldn't wait to see what he was all about and I am impressed. Man of the match in his first game in English football. He is a 100% improvement on Clingan in midfield. His distribution was excellent, he helped out defence, fancied his chances of a goal and nearly knocked Sonko out with what was a scuffed shot, god help any player on the end of a proper shot.
I am so glad we are back at this level. I never want to go down to the football wilderness again. Not going to get carried away about our chances this season but I think we are capable of finishing in the top half of the table and after being in league one for 3 seasons, that will do for me for now.

Hi everyone
It was good to see on sunday that all the fans got behind our team their were no moans and groans , but most of all what an improvment from last season .
We played some top football at times short passes very little long balls and everyone wanted the ball a massive improvment on last season.
We look stronger and more positive and what a signing in GUY MOUSSI he was brilliant he never gave the ball away and always looked like causing reading problems, simple short passes a brilliant home debut from the french man mountain.
Reading are a good side full of top league players and at the end of the season they will be there and abouts so i class a draw a good result for us on a hard opening game of the new season.
Morgan and wilson played very well second half they got caught twice with the long ball but bennett covered well he also had a good game hard as nails that lad.
The only player what i think did not play very well was Davies he never got going on the left wing that ment bennett could not get forward hence the lack of attacking options on the left hand side.
With the injurys to CC attackers i could see why he only played earnshaw up front on his own in an home fixture and the boy ran his socks off and could have stole it for us with just a couple of minutes left...
On a whole a vast improvment on last season a draw was a good result against a good reading side .....
keep it up boys you will only get better.
