Drug Awareness Week
Mon 15 Jun 2009
Nottingham Forest defender Julian Bennett has given his support to national drug awareness week.
The defender met the winners of a competition organised by Nottinghamshire police, who also got the chance to watch a demonstration of a mock drugs search at The City Ground using specially trained dogs. On Monday, the students were presented with awards for their participation in the week's events by Chief Constable Julia Hodson.
The four lucky winners from across the country also had the chance to interview Julian, who talked about the dangers of drugs.
When asked if he had ever been tempted to take drugs, he replied: "I've never been tempted, but there are drugs around and you've just got to be aware that you've got to take the right decision when or if you ever come across it and obviously not to take it."
